🆕🧵 here’s my thread for #Notts 4-0 win over #tufc

Sorry that it’s later than usual but had a mad busy day!

Image credit goes to Torquay for this one

Aaron has this move in the locker, and has used it often recently, and it opens up space for him to drive into. I was also impressed with how Rawlo adapted to that new role to the right of the defence, and how he pushed up into that pocket of space. The cross is good too

Rawlo had a really strong game in his new role, and he pushed into that space really nicely. It compresses the Torquay defence, and is a real tactical tool. Note how Baj is filling in as he pushes up and also the movement of Palmer, who moves into space to make the pass possible

This is actually in the build up to the second goal, and once again Rawlo pushes high. He did it so frequently, and he acts almost as an extra attacking midfielder, really overloading the opposition. He has the confidence to give and go, and it frees up players like Scott

Once again note Rawlo’s positioning, pushing high and compressing them. He acts almost as a 3rd midfielder, he’s in line with Palmer and acts as another out ball. He also drags out one of their defenders out of the box, so again frees up space for the others

De Silva was a real handful down their left side, showing real pace and a good delivery. However I wanted to highlight how well Slocombe dealt with the crosses. Despite not having much to do he kept alert and also anticipated and read the flight of the ball really well

Here’s another example of Sam cutting out the danger before it materialises, and it comes from not only his concentration levels being high, but also his starting position and willingness to come off his line. This side of his game has evolved massively over the last 12 months

His distribution has also improved massively this season, and teams don’t usually press him, but here he is and he responds well. The vision to spot the run but also the technique to pick him out with a long flat ball is great. Chicks provides great width too, such a good run

This was the first time in the first half that we got Langstaff involved, & his influence shows. The ball into feet at pace is clearly something we work on, and it shows as he reacts well, almost creating a chance on the rebound. Scott also shows a deft touch here, reacting well

This set piece routine is straight off the training ground, & it compliments the skill set of our players so well. Palmer has the perfect weight of pass, and Nemane has the pace to attack the space from deep but still get there. It almost opens the scoring, such a clever routine

We maintain the threat from the set piece breaking down, holding similar positions and it pays off. Rawlo once again occupies that space, and is free this time, being picked out well by Palmer, who once again shows his great weight of pass. What a finish from Rawlo too!

It was great that Ruben got the chance to show his worth from the spot, after his miss last time out, and it’s such a good penalty. He waits til Halstead moves, the slight hesitation sits him down, before slotting it into the opposite corner. Lovely technique

Chicks let’s fly with his right foot here, which he did in the week against Wealdstone, and he’s gone from a one footed full back to a wing back who shoots on both feet. It’s such a sweet strike, & a great reaction from Macca to follow it in, but Halstead is so brave to deny him

I always love to highlight it, but Cameron pushing forward and occupying a spot in the half space is such a weapon. He possesses a real weapon with his cross from deep, it’s so hard to defend, and he always gets such great shape on the cross. Almost a great chance

Ruben had another great game, & here he tears up the turf, exploiting the space left by Torquay. It’s always impressive that he has the vision to pick out the right pass whilst on the move, & he plays it into feet again with pace. Macca should have the vision to pick Scott out tho

Baldwin slotted in well at the back following his absence, & here he picks a good pass between two opposition players. Baj also has great positioning here, occupying space and making himself available for the pass both times, which allows him to shoot here (yes he does get lucky)
