GeoConfirmed Investigation.
What happened in Veretye airbase, Pskov Oblast, Russia?
A little @GeoConfirmed thread.
We number our tweets xx/ in case other information emerges in the coming days.

Yesterday morning reports emerged that in the Pskov region something exploded.
Soon Russian media was reporting:
"At around 10 pm, military personnel of the unit heard several explosions, and then saw the scattered wreckage of two helicopters."
02/
While we were looking for evidence of this explosion, Ukrainian 'GUR' Intelligence published an article on their website giving more details about the damage and some indications of sabotage ("search for sabotage groups").
03/
gur.gov.ua/content/na-aer…
They indicate 03x heli destroyed (02x Ka-52 + 01x Mi-28 HIND) + 02x extra heli's damaged with debris flying in a radius of 200m.

During the evening, around 21hr, a video was published where a sabotage action was carried out: explosives were placed on at least 2 different helicopters.
So was this in Veretye Air base, Pskov Oblast, Russia as was claimed?
05/
Yes it was.
One of our volunteers, @JohnB_Schneider, worked further with the information @ShimazuOSINT provided and he GeoLocated this to

Later today @ArtisanalAPT provided recent satellite imagery dated 31 0944 OCT 2022 UTC:
You can see 3x possible wreckage and 2 other helicopters in the area.

What explosives were used?
@UAWeapons provided a solid explanation on this:

Conclusion:
Based on the GeoLocation, the GUR statement and the footage we assess that there was a successful sabotage action carried out in Veretye airbase, known as a repair facility, that resulted in the likely destruction of 3 helicopters and 2 more were damaged.
10/
Sidenote: we are aware that certain accounts claim that this was an intrusion dated 2019.
Comparing the imagery from the intrusion in 2019 and the recent sabotage action we can conclude these are completely different incidents.
