BATU: Crowds of supporters have arrived at the Batu nomination centre, SMK Sentul Utama.
Those seeking nominations are: Tian Chua (Bebas), P. Prabakaran (PH), Siti Kasim (Bebas), Wan Azliana (Pejuang), Azhar Yahya (PN), A. Kohilan (MIC), Nur Fathiah (Bebas), & Zulfikifli (PRM).
2. Tian chua told reporters that he would be ready to receive any punishments from PKR, for contesting as an independent against P Prabakaran (PKR).
But he confirmed that he has not quit the party yet.
3. Tian Chua also told BFM News he doesn’t believe that his move will block Pakatan’s goal in fighting corruption and kleptocracy.

4. Meanwhile, incumbent Batu MP P. Prabakaran says “it’s not only Tian Chua, there’s 10 of us. People will choose the right person.”
“Yang dapat saya tahu, yang asal ada saja 2-3 orang. We leave it up to the people”.
5. SAI Mahendran from the Indian Taxi Group, said he initially planned to contest as an independent, but decided to back down, once he heard that Tian Chua was contesting.
“My side will support him, and support his return.”
6. SPR has confirmed that 10 candidates will contest for the Batu seat.

7. MIC’s A. Kohilan Pillay is looking to hold “diplomatic talks” with fellow BN component party MCA in the coming days.
“As a former deputy foreign minister, I have experience in handling all the diplomatic issues with countries.”
8. Kohilan also told BFM News, that as a Batu local who is aware of the problems in the constituency, he will work to improve the area’s parking problems and flooding issues.
9. PAS’ Ustaz Azhar Yahya, is taking his second shot at the seat this GE15.
He told BFM News, he and his team worked hard to help Batu’s residents during the MCO and floods.
“Kalau diberikan peluang untuk mentadbir kami boleh buat 10 kali ganda daripada itu, Insyaallah.”
10. Meanwhile, Tian Chua says that he will continue to stand behind Pakatan Harapan’s victory for GE15, despite returning to contest Batu as an independent.

11. PKR’s P. Prabakaran, whom Tian Chua supported in GE14, told reporters he felt disappointed at Tian Chua’s “selfishness”.
He adds, that PKR will take the relevant action against Tian Chua.
12. The 10-cornered fight for Batu is also joined by PRM’s Zulkifli Fattah. He says, he has worked in Batu for 4 years and understands the community’s issues.
Nur Fathiah, popularly known as Cleopatra, is also hoping for a win.
13. Siti Kassim who was one of the earliest to arrive at the nomination centre, donned Orang Asli headgears with her supporters for the occasion.
