🧵In response to @robmccoyus suggesting HE is somehow a victim because we shared information Rob attempted to hide about @GodSpeakCCTO @ Home Santa Paula group we present this thread. It's a lot. /1
Major problem with @robmccoyus defending Thom is not once does Thom mention the fact that he was previously placed on probation in 1990 after pleading no contest to lewd conduct involving children in Manhattan Beach, and that additional charges were dropped to protect victims./2
LA Times reported that Thom had plea bargained his 1990 charge of indecent exposure and Sheriff officials said he should have been registered as a sex offender prior to the 1994 - 1995 incidents./3
Also not mentioned during Rob's interview with Thom is the fact that his bid for a shorter sentence was denied because the victims were especially vulnerable and "The evidence was overwhelming the defendant committed these crimes."/4
Rob interviewed Thom on Liberty Station podcast (where was @Bryceeddy1 on this one?) and tried desperately to frame the situation as a "all of us have failed" story of redemption./5
Rob makes several attempts to convince his audience Thom has been a good person for 21 years (we hope that's true) and that this all happened a long time ago./6
Again, Rob interrupts Thom to remind everyone this is a story about redemption./7
While @robmccoyus attempts to create a redemption narrative Thom has a different story altogether, that he was falsely accused of "an underage girl thing."/8
Prosecutors proved in court that after previously being convicted of lewd conduct with children, Thom was convicted of molestation, indecent eposure and 10 counts of child annoyance. Not exactly "an underage girl thing."/9
Prior to being convicted and sentenced, Thom was reportedly in denial of his problem (that he is a child predator). In the following tweet we can see this appears to still be the case./10
On Liberty Station with @robmccoyus Thom claims even though he was found "unbelievably guilty", and lost his appeal, it was all because he was framed by law enforcement and because his ex wife was dating his public defender and had no incentive to defend him properly./11
If Thom's story is true he is still must follow procedures as a registered sex offender. The reason we originally shared this information was concerns the parents at the @GodSpeakCCTO Santa Paula Bible group were unaware when they were invited to bring children to his home./12
When Rob suggests parents know Thom's "story" Thom replies incredulously, "Do they?" followed by Rob trying to get on record that Thom disclosed everything to the parents. Thom says nothing to confirm this claim./13
To Conclude: We believe the public should be made aware if any organization is allowing a registered sex offender to invite children into their homes. We believe parents were not aware and @robmccoyus attempted to remove the evidence once it was made public./14
We believe it is important to hold accountable any individual or organization who promote baseless claims against schools and community members supportive of LGBTQI+ inclusivity, by suggesting they are demonic, perverted, or groomers (all has been said on Liberty Station)./15
And most importantly to note: Not once in any of this does Rob or Thom speak out against child sexual abuse. They only frame themselves as victims and completely ignore the actual victims, the children. These are the facts about Thom Cimino that @robmccoyus willfully ignores./16
