The Air Defence System #Gepard 1A2 has proven itself excellently against the #threats from the air in the Ukraine, as I have emphasized in a continuous loop over the last 4 years. Everything we asked the system to do was fulfilled.

The #Gepard is no longer "threat appropriate." To this day it is a mystery to me how they came to this conclusion. The integration into modern Air Defence Networks is given with version 1A2. The Siemens MPDR12 search radar could not be supressed by ECR Tornados during tests. 2/

This makes the 1A2 difficult to fight against in πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦. The EECM are sufficient against jammers. The given anti-aircraft combat tactics makes the Radar difficult to detect. Due to add. tactical measures, the enemy can't assess where a #Gepard is just clearing up ready for battle 3/

#Gepard B2/B2L both 1A1 and the digitized 1A2 are versions with MPDR 12. The Dutch use different Radars. Due to the existing logistical chains, I assume that further 1A2 will be delivered to πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦. Many parts and components of the Gepard 1A1 are not compatible with the 1A2. 4/

The 35 mm weapon system of the #Gepard 1A2 is very reliable, has a lot of bang and can easily be disassembled and reassembled by the crew without special tools. The entire weapon system is suitable for quick #field repairs, which is a big plus for the use in the #Ukraine 5/

Even during the Ukraine war, some still said he couldn't shoot down drones. However, this was already tested in 2017 for Qatar (see my report on this) The Shahed are relatively large & not particularly fast. But how could the #Gepards take so many down from the sky? 6/

The combination of a well trained crew, the laser located on the tracking radar and the HE-T ammunition with self-destruct is responsible for this. However, I don't want to dive too deeply in it for reasons. There is a very effective way to do this. 7/

The laser comes into play from a distance of 5500 m & gives a much more accurate and faster fire control calculation. It's like a claw enclosing the flight target. The Drone can do whatever it wants, but can't escape. The HE-T Mun instantly destroys the target. 8/
