SO MANY challenges when starting #VR DEVELOPMENT such as what are all the tools & what do they do?

THIS IS FOR YOU!

- Start & learn to use a game engine (Unity/Unreal)
- Learn Visual Scripting (C#/C++ more flexibility)
- Get a VR Headset & computer (mac or win)

- Ask yourself the question: what platform do you want to build for? Do not overcomplicate this, just pick one ex: Meta, SteamVR, etc
- For Unity which is my expertise try the following toolkits: (XR Interaction Toolkit, MRTK 3, UltimateXR, VRIF, Hurricane VR)

- With C++ or C# Development you will need a good IDE, Visual Studio, VS Code, or Rider (these are are all very robust)
- Get familiar with the Debugger / Profiler
- Get very familiar with Blender or similar (3D Authoring)
- Start a VR prototype perhaps a clone of your game

- Join XR Communities and game jams as they will help you go through building a VR experience from start to finish
- Put your code on GitHub & use it as a portfolio
- Follow FREE VR tutorials on YouTube from @JustinPBarnett @ValemVR
