1/14: When the @SaskParty tries to constantly poison the well by saying "the @Sask_NDP destroyed Saskatchewan," we should all be reminded about the NDP's actual history of good government - a thread: #skpoli

2/14: 1944 - CCF(NDP) passes the Farm Security Act to protect Saskatchewan farms and farm machinery from seizure for debts by banks and mortgage companies.

3/14: 1944 - Crown Corporation Saskatchewan Government Insurance (@SGItweets) officially established.

4/14: 1946 - Premier Douglas meets with Indigenous leaders to form a single org representing First Nations interests in Saskatchewan. Formed the Union of Saskatchewan Indians (USI) which later became the Federation of Saskatchewan Indians (FSI), and later yet - the @fsinations.

5/14: 1946 - Saskatchewan Transportation Company (STC) officially established as a Crown Corporation linking the entire province's economy for shipping and travel. STC was dismantled and sold off in 2017 by Premier Brad Wall cutting off seniors and Northerners from transport.

6/14: 1947 - The CCF(NDP) passes the Saskatchewan Bill of Rights, the first Bill of Rights in Canada prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, colour, or religion.

7/14: 1947 - Crown Corporation @SaskTel officially established. Telephone access is quickly extended to more farms and rural areas in Saskatchewan.

8/14: 1949 - The CCF/NDP passes the Rural Electrification Act to bring electricity to everyone in Saskatchewan. producer.com/news/electrici…

9/14: 1949 - Crown Corporation @SaskPower officially established.

10/14: 1962 - Under Premier Tommy Douglas, Saskatchewan becomes first province to enact a single-payer, publicly-run, universal healthcare plan in North America including dental care.

11/14: 1972 - @skcropinsurance is made available to all farmers across the province under Premier Allen Blakeney. Blakeney was a brilliant politician who was a Rhodes Scholar at the @UniofOxford.

12/14: 1975 - Crown Corporation the Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan officially established. It was later privatized under Grant Devine in 1989 and 1991 in the largest provincial privatization project to date in Canadian history, placing future massive profits in private hands.

13/14: 1994 - Premier Romanow brings down Saskatchewan's first balanced budget in 13 years after Conservative Premier Grant Devine's crippling "Decade of Darkness" during the 1980s.

14/14: 2006 - Premiers Calvert and Williams (NFLD) form coalition to fight federal government on the equalization formula. Sask takes the federal government to court in a constitutional challenge regarding equalization. The court case is cancelled when @BradWall306 takes office.
