lots of talk about the M2 bradley, and how it MAY be going to the ukraine.. lets clear some things up shall we.

if the bradley goes, its not going alone. spare parts and support equipment will be coming along too.. TONS of it. so no problem.

the bradley going would probably be the M2A2 ODS. thats a bradley that has been upgraded at least 3 times since the last time it faced the USSR

the armor is now thicker, the fire control better, the gun is better, the TOWs are improved, the sights are better.. all improved..

what can we say about the museum exhibits that MOST of the russian vehicles that are out there? well there are fewer of them. thats about all

the M242 was able to go right threw T72s in both gulf wars. the AP ammo is devastating to the soviet era cast tanks. trust me we were shocked too (brad crews). infantry would try to hide behind wrecks of tanks. it never worked. a long burst would get them

the thermal sights on the bradley are great and can be used in the recon mode, and the 25mm can (and has been) used in the anti sniper mode.

brads are scarry fast. i can say that on a hill i have hit over 60mph.. and yes i was wearing the brown camo pants.

the TOW, they already have it and have used it in combat. it works and NOTHING can survive a hit from it. out of the 15+ i have fired.. only 1 miss due to a malfunction. enough said.

some will try to say "its too complicated for ukr".. BS.
if 18yo US kids can keep it running so can combat hardened smart ukr mechanics. everything is plug and play. and it comes with a computer that will tell you what is broken.

normally if you have a issue with the hull its the VDB, and you just change it out. in the turret its the TDB, or the computer.. both easy to change.. and quick. other than that the motor (PAC) or the sight go out.. all simple and easy to pull and swap.

improved brad today.. all kinds of added armor

russian upgrades to most BMP1s in the last 30 years (in red boxes)
