I never used an AI in my 3 years of copywriting.

However, I used ChatGPT just to satisfy my FOMO.

Here's how is sucks (and surprises, of course).

A belated #ThursdayThread 🧵

1.5 years ago, a marketing agency hired me to write their VSLs.

They gave me access to their copy(.)ai's ID - so that I could get ideas.

I used it once and immediately realized that AI copy (almost) sucks.

Until a few days back.

One of my fellows @KhadijaaRana made me use ChatGPT.

I was a little reluctant to use it, tbvh.

I logged in and gave it a command.

"Write a sales page for a copywriter who helps coaches make more money."

Here it is:

You see what's wrong with it?

No? Let me explain.

It targets a generic pain point.

However, in copywriting, we target specific pain points of our audience, not generic ones.

I then did my thing.

I entered the specific pain point of my audience in their own language.

And these were the results:

Now you see?

Pretty much of the problem is solved in terms of the pain point.

However, the complete problem is still not solved.

The language is not powerful.

No focus on USPs.

Just a random copy you would find on any agency website.

But again, it can get better with specific commands.

So I would say, I am pretty much impressed with the results.

However, they are not good enough to steal a copywriter's job who thinks critically and takes responsibility for the results.

Correction:

The live video of the 2nd AI copy seems distorted.

Here is the screenshot of the final copy.
