Commander of UPA Dmytro Klyachkivsky was the main perpetrator and the initiator of the massacres of #Poles in Volhynia. In modern #Ukraine he is depicted as a "flawless knight".

During the 1943 OUN-B congress, a few members of the UPA recognized the physical liquidation of entire Polish communities as an arbitrary action & a political error. However, most of the members of the OUN leadership, like UPA main commander Roman Shukhevych, supported it. 👇

Ukrainian historian Ihor Ilyushin stated:Responsibility for making the decision to murder tens of thousands of civilian Poles, including old people, women & children, in accordance with the principle of collective responsibility,rests in the 1st place with the Bandera leadership.

Western historians consider the 1943 Volhynia massacre to be one of the cruelest genocides, the Banderites used medieval methods. At one point, the Wehrmacht also intervened even for them the cruelty done by the UPA was too much.

The best example of Western hypocrisy is that all historians know this, the glorification of Bandera, Shukhevych & the UPA was criticized by all Westerners include @TimothyDSnyder , but now when Russia is doing something against it, suddenly they no longer have a problem with it.
