Product onboarding experience is often overlooked while comparing products.

However, it's an important factor to consider.

Because..

🧵

Several steps are involved before a product gets in your hand.

This is known famously as the buyer's journey

It can be funneled into
(1) Desire
(2) Discover (product)
(3) Decide (to purchase)
(4) Adopt (product)
(5) Realize (benefit, value)

Let me walk you through the funnel and help you understand it by giving an example of how I ended up using @GoPro cameras...

------------------------------------------------------

I wanted to be able to easily capture high-action sequences. [Desire]

So, I began searching for products that could help me do this & eventually came across GoPro cameras on YouTube. [Discovery]

I evaluated the product, matched the price with MY perceived value of the product. So I decided to buy [Decide] & went through the process of ordering it online [Adopt]

The process was smooth, with a :
- user-friendly website
- honest pricing
- simple packaging
- clear communication (emails & tracking nos
generated)
- safe & timely delivery

Once arrived, I could unbox it, assemble it and learn how to operate within a couple of hours

I learned different ways I could capture and publish High definition videos on cloud [Realize benefits]

Overall this product inspired me to capture more & more [Realize value]

------------------------------------------------------

So...
Before you get too carried away and evaluate all the cool features, take a step back and analyze the on-boarding experience.
