There are several problems with this, it puts an affair imposition on not just me but my TA who is also an undergraduate student and has to keep going back to do more grading. Also, things get lost in email and students complain their late homework grades never got posted.
It also fosters bad habits, delays learning, and hurts them more than it helps them when getting ready for exams, quizzes and the final. I absolutely work with people with extenuating circumstances but this school year I'm dealing with everything from sports to I forgot.
