.@EU_Commission VP @MargSchinas shared emotional stories of Jewish victims of Thessaloniki, and related that #Holocaust remembrance is not only our responsibility as Europeans, but is the best investment for a Europe free of hate and intolerance.

On behalf of @sweden2023eu, @Pau_Brandberg vowed to #Holocaust survivors present in the audience that the EU Council will work hard to safeguard rights and maintain political will to counter #antisemitism in the present day.

From the 🇸🇪 Swedish presidency of @TheIHRA, @ann_bernes spoke on the various initiatives and commitments from European institutions and civil society to commemorate and remember the Shoah, its victims, and survivors.

Polish #Holocaust survivor Henriette Kretz, born in 1934 and currently living in Antwerp, gave a very emotional testimony of how she survived as a child, in the ghetto and then in hiding.

It is imperative that we listen to every survivor’s story.

In closing remarks this evening, Katharina von Schnurbein of @EUAntisemitism expressed hope that we will all have the civil courage to call out #antisemitism and all forms of discrimination, and not to stand silent.
