🧶 with the controversial things seen in #AtomicHeart
Westerners probably won't understand them because they don't know the whole cultural context.
Russians will say it's just a coincidence.
But if there are too many coincidences, you can no longer call them coincidences. 1/n
One of the ethnic slurs russians use for Ukrainians is “piggs”. And there are a lot of pigs in #AtomicHeart
The player can kill them and Z symbols will appear on their bodies, which have become the equivalent of the Nazi swastika. 2/n
And more pigs. 3/n
There are so many pigs that even cans of ground pork meat look like reference. 4/n
A reference to Iranian drones. 5/n
Photos of Ukrainian cities. 6/n
This is not directly about the gameplay, but about the reaction to the criticism. Different russian “shitty memes” channels have posted insults against critics of #AtomicHeart & their minions have started harassing people who have been mentioned
#notallrussians #PutinsWar 🤡7/n
And russians do understand each and every reference. So don't make a pathetic attempt to tell us how much people loved this flower in the ussr, or the flowers don’t look like that at all and it is all a big misunderstanding. 8/n
Russians understand everything, but pretend it's all the “offended Ukrainians” from “mental facility” making it up. “The references we deserve”, “you can kill pigs, which are suspiciously many of them there”.
#PutinsWar 🙃 9/n
Another🧶 about these “coincidences”
And this is a standard strategy of russians. They call every insult a coincidence/joke. And if you are insulted you’re some kind of “soy” crybaby. Both putin's&opposition fans just pretend there’s nothing happening. They love gaslighting. 10/n
Another good review of #AtomicHeart and its creators. About the gameplay and the connection to the russian government. 11/n
The map with the Crimea being part of russia.
The transfer of the Crimean region to Ukraine took place in 1954.
Atomic Heart takes place in an alternate 1955.
Another “coincidence”. 12/n
Those robots, that make gamers so horny, look not only like a reference to ballerinas (“ru culture”), but to Ukrainian politician Yulia Tymoshenko (russian users also call them that way)
She made a braid around her head & her image became a sensation: myanimelist.net/character/2635… 13/n
Another good thread about #atomicheart 14/n
Great topic on the general russian propaganda in #AtomicHeart about “traditions”, masculinity, hypersexualised women, etc.
(Pics from ) 15/n
About the excuses that “it's just a game” & “you're overreacting”. The whole #AtomicHeart is a perfect representation of the russian society & propaganda: sexism, xenophobia&racism, war support, covered up with “it's our traditions and nothing is happening”. 16/n
