Jungkook cries himself to sleep more often than he’d like to admit.
After he and Yoongi decided to break up, nights became cold, dark, and lonely. He was happy that his boyfriend got accepted as a rapper in Seoul. Happy to see Yoongi succeed.
After they kissed goodbye for one last time, days became miserable.
One year suddenly felt like too short of a relationship and Jungkook was letting the man he’d loved for two years just leave him.
Maybe he was selfish those five months ago, when he’d asked Yoongi if they would see each other again.
Of course, they wouldn’t.
He should’ve known that Yoongi was starting a new life in Seoul without him. He should’ve known that he’d be left in the past. A mere part of Yoongi’s life— now past life.
He’s no longer Yoongi’s.
Kim Taehyung is.
And Jungkook has never cried so hard before. Not even when Yoongi left and he’d broken down in the airport restrooms all by himself, no Min Yoongi to comfort him or be there so he wouldn’t cry alone.
Kim Taehyung has taken his spot and it makes Jungkook’s chest tight, breathing becomes a hard task, and tears pour down until they no longer can anymore.
He cried alone at first, when he first found out. Then his best friend was there to comfort him and drag him out of the apartment. Now, he’s alone again.
He’s alone and he’s trying to settle down by turning on the TV, but a drama plays and of course, Kim Taehyung pops up on the screen and Jungkook’s throat swells as he tears up again.
If this is the price to pay for encouraging Yoongi to apply to Seoul, then Jungkook ashamedly regrets it. He wishes so badly for Yoongi to be happy but selfishly wants himself to be happy as well.
He can’t be happy if Yoongi is with someone else. Jungkook has always been the jealous type, never in a toxic way, but this new jealousy is angry and cruel.
This jealousy feels like fire and he can’t help it. He can’t help but wish that Yoongi was happy with him instead.
So, he cries himself to sleep once again after turning the drama off and thinking about how much he wants to be Kim Taehyung.
