The ADL (Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith) was formed in 1913 in the wake of the lynching of Jewish pencil factory boss Leo Frank, who was accused of raping and murdering Mary Phagan, a 13-year-old white girl.
The ADL blamed the black janitor for the murder.
The jury had unanimously convicted Frank for the murder, given the overwhelming evidence both that he was a pervert who regularly used his authority in the factory to prey on young girls, that he was lying, and that he was the only one who was there to rape/kill Mary.
There is a lot to the story, and I recommend people study it, given that it is demonstrative of the way the ADL continues to operate.
Frank was himself a high-ranking official in B'nai B'rith. During the trial, other members of this group tried to have a witness poisoned.
It was organized lobbying by the B'nai B'rith that got
Frank's death sentenced commuted to life in prison. This is what led to the lynching.
Georgia residents were outraged.
The former governor of Georgia himself participated in the lynching.
The people were so disgusted with not only what Frank did to poor little Mary Phagan - a peasant girl just trying to help her family - but with the conspiratorial behavior of the B'nai B'rith, they decided to chop up the corpse and burn it, that all memory of him would be erased.
There is no serious argument that Frank was innocent.
The conviction itself was never overturned.
The ADL argument is that Frank was denied the appeals process by the lynching, and so, they assert, he was never fully proved to have been guilty.
The ADL continues to blame the black janitor, and defames various other blacks involved in the case.
The ADL is, fundamentally, an anti-black hate group, founded on framing blacks for crimes they didn't commit.
This might shed some light on the way @JGreenblattADL treated Ye for simply speaking his mind.
The ADL views blacks as weapons, either to be used to hurt whites or to protect their own people.
They do not view blacks as human beings with agency deserving of dignity.
We should also note the way that the ADL treated Elon when he vowed to give the people free speech. They bullied and threatened him, in the same way they bullied and threatened the people of Georgia during the Leo Frank saga.
They will do anything to get what they want.
The power of the ADL does not come from any type of popular support for their agenda, but from their absolute ability to defame people and destroy reputations in cooperation with the media.
This is an organization incompatible with a free society.
