On Youtube, people like big holes
Let's dive in...
(Expect a meta Youtube strategist info dump) Thread 🧵
1. Attention
In most cases, it's a great scroll stopper,
They are great single-focus point that catches your attention
I think it's because the flow points you toward a very dark circle or a specific spot
2. Intriguing
When people see a huge hole they question themselves.
It creates a sense of mystery that you want to find out what’s down there or what happens if you fall in there
3. Focus
It's often the only focal point in the thumbnail, especially compared to the competition on the home page
4. Recap
I think they work well because they are:
- Symmetric,
- Mesmerizing
- Single focus point
- Intriguing (create a curiosity gap)
- Catches your attention
Try implementing it for one of your videos, let me know how it went
5. Appreciation
Been collecting these thumbnails for months 😂
