3/Between end of March & now, Behavioral Health Link took down its page of software solutions. Maybe it will go back up but I'd like to know why it's gone. Seems they've sanitized the site of their " #AI " type services. No doubt still in development. web.archive.org/web/2023041614…
4/If I were to guess, it's deliberate public relations move to pre-empt backlash like hit #CrisisTextLine when @Ali_Lev's POLITICO piece widely exposed their for-profit spinoff Loris ai (Loris is still in business, CTL still has license income agree AFAIK)
5/I'm again warning of these for-profit automated intrusions into #CrisisLines care.
6/I'm pointing to a network of connections (#RedYarn yep) among profit, non-profit, research, influential persons & organizations--driving these policy movements, w/o giving voice to those using the services.
7/I'm talking about automation of triaging the queue (already happening #CrisisTextLine & #TheTrevorProject), assessing volunteer "effectiveness", creating mass data stores of conversations w/o consent for further #NLP intrusions to feed the whole cycle again. Spanish next.
8/Some of us are in beginning stages moving towards organizing volunteers. With insights learned from some really supportive people, I believe this is only way to have influence against current powerful de-humanizing trends in crisis care. Watch for opportunities ahead.🌈🌧️🌞
