How can we have a warm and cuddly math moment, asks @helenjwc. It seems like such an unusual idea!
It isn't particularly helpful when adults dismiss maths as something they were not good at either. But teaching mathematics is about developing mathematical thinking.

Math happens when a child sees a relative at a distance and has to calculate how far to run to hug them (awareness) 🤗 or when navigating a route and remembering landmarks and how to get there (representations) #EYMaths #WarmAndFuzzyMaths #PlayBasedLearning #ToddlePlay @helenjwc

Here are some great examples of goal-oriented EY activities that support early mathematical skills. The language used during these activities helps prepare children as well.
