The #WestBengal post-poll violence had 15000 heinous crimes with 7000 women molested.
The victims of such crimes are still denied justice by both State and Central Government as follows: (1/9)

As a result of post-poll violence more than 100000 people were forced to leave the state

Out of so many victims only 541 complaints were filed with National Human Rights Commission and 0 with the state commission

The CBI is currently investigating only 58 cases (2/9) @juhii1__

So great was the fear and pressure of state government that Justice Indira Banerjee excused herself from hearing a PIL of victims.

Both the Central and the State government lawyers did not appear in one of the crucial trial dates of July 30, 2021. (3/9) @manojananda @PALADMI

The State govt. denied the existence of the post poll violence till date calling them "small events".

The State Government refused to pay any compensation for the victims of the violence.
Even after repeated court orders, compensation for the victims are pending.
60% of the cases where people approached the police no FIRs were lodged.

The state government challenged the High Court order to register all cases of the post-poll violence victims and to provide them with rations and medical treatment

The victims who were mostly just supporters of the ruling party were now abandoned by them. (6/9) @devyanidilli

The Central Govt. in response to a lawsuit by the State Govt. gave an affidavit in #SupremeCourt

Responding to allegations that the CBI is doing investigation without State formalities the Centre called CBI an autonomous body with them having nothing to do with the cases (7/9)

Abandoned by both Govts , the desperate families of victims staged a protest in Delhi demanding security of their lives and President's rule in WB.
In August 2022, SC gave 4 weeks time to both Central and State Govts. to respond to a plea demanding President's rule in WB. (8/9)

After 2 years not a single one of the 100000 plus victims of the post poll violence received justice. Those who returned home live in fear

The barbarity of the TMC govt. and the inaction of the Central govt. is worsening this tragedy even today (9/9)
