1⃣ What is Robonomics?

Robonomics is an innovative open-source platform that allows users to exchange vital technical and economic information in the form of atomic transactions.

It can be used on a wide variety of IoT applications, as well as complex robotics devices.

👁️ Parachain & Relay Chain vision

Robonomics exists both on #Ethereum and partially on Polkadot.

It is in its second year with @kusamanetwork

From a parachain on Kusama, Robonomics wishes to become a relay chain on Polkadot.

2⃣ The purpose of Robonomics

Robonomics integrates blockchain, decentralization, and web3 technology into real-life robotics.

Its goal is to establish a smart city connected robot economy with Robot-as-a-Service functionality.

3⃣ What are the Problems of current IoT Solutions?

Robonomics tackles IoT challenges including global availability, cybersecurity, and data privacy.

Many IoT devices are tethered to cloud servers, ceding control to remote hands.

The central control element of IoT solutions makes them vulnerable to cybersecurity issues and raises concerns about data privacy as personal data expands👇

4⃣ How will Robonomics solve these problems?

Robonomics aims to improve and secure internet solutions for communication between humans and machines in the IoT market, building upon cloud platform successes and difficulties.

It integrates blockchain, decentralization, and web3 technologies into real-life robotics.

IoT and smart grids benefit greatly from decentralized architectures.

The company aims to accomplish the following tasks:👇

✅ Managing an IoT device using a decentralized cloud

Blockchain networks offer maximum security and protection for IoT devices.

Changes made to the devices are reflected in the digital twin stored within the system, ensuring global availability and peace of mind for users.

Furthermore, individuals can rest easy knowing their data remains safe from any unwanted alterations while relying on IoT providers.

✅Performing technical and economic transaction between people and machines

Crypto and smart contracts grant direct access to automated systems in digital markets, enabling autonomous devices.

Ethereum, for example, provides the economic tools that make applications between end users and IoT gadgets more seamless when service standards, payment allocations, and activation processes are integrated within the gadget.

✅Serverless IoT applications for users

With web3-tech, users can now protect privacy flexibly. Authentication isn't needed to access telemetry or control devices, freeing users from a specific server.

5⃣ How does Robonomics work?

✅ Human interface
Robonomics offers a safe and effective way to connect people with smart devices over the Internet through dapps.

This system can work within city networks as well as globally, providing users with data security.

✅Communication Protocol

The network is a stage for providers to transmit, process, and store IoT information.

It combines IPFS, Ethereum, and Polkadot networks, with specialised nodes for user reliance.

✅ Machine Interface

Robonomics uses Robot Operating System (ROS) as the interface to connect compatible cyber-physical systems.

For Ethereum, Robonomics is implemented using the ROS package robonomics_comm and and with ROS 2 through middleware layer integration.

When ROS is not needed, Python developers can seamlessly access the features of Robonomics using the robonomics-interface module.

The following diagram shows the complete startup cycle for a device using Robonomics:

🛠️ What can Robonomics do?

Robonomics can..

▪️ Use Ethereum's decentralized computer to control your robots.

▪️ Make your robot save a blockchain log of every operation it performs.

▪️ Enable the subscription-based access to autonomous robots.

▪️ Establish a digital marketplace for robot servicing.

▪️ Turn crypto into money for robots.

🤖 Here is more information on why robots need blockchain👇

6⃣ What is Robonomics Web Services (RWS) ?

RWS is a web3 cloud for personal use at home.

It provides customizable data privacy for your smart home server, allowing access control, crust storage backup, and remote device interaction without centralized clouds as intermediaries.

In comparison to Amazon AWS, RWS can provide a higher level of security due to its decentralised ecosystem.

Also, IoT devices can use smart contracts and cryptocurrency that can be accessed through IoT devices, not only for technical but also for economic transactions.

7⃣ Tokenomics

Robonomics launched two tokens to power its Network - $XRT and $RWS.

$XRT is the utility token that controls IoT devices in Ethereum and Polkadot networks, paying for transactions and IoT subscription for priority processing.

The $RWS token on the other hand is a lifetime subscription token that grants you 1 transaction per second free of charge for use of Robonomics Network when activated.

9⃣ Use Cases

Here are some example use cases:

▪️ Digital Twins for Smart Leasing

▪️ IoT data marketplace

▪️ Enviromental Data

▪️ Providers of autonomous services

▪️ Smart Home

▪️ Digital Passports for IoT Systems

▪️ Industry 4.0
