4/ Spatial context of @lhinnant story of the flooding of families in the village of Lysohirka, Zaporizhzhia, located on the farthest upstream portion, right bank, of the #KakhovkaReservoir.
5/ @riley_mellen and @heytherehaley also published an article for @nytimes on 17 May 2023 about #KakhovkaHPP water level. Article included a nice
#PlanetLabs image from 3 May 2023 clearly showing dam over-topping.
6/ #KakhovkaHPP image taken back on 11 NOV 2023 by @Maxar. Image was taken the day after Russian occupiers blew up the road and rain deck about sluice gates 26-28 (far left side of image below) to block UAF pursuit of RF forces retreating to the left.
7/ With the start of water over-topping #KakhovkaHPP dam late April 2023, #KakhovkaReservoir water level has ceased increasing, remaining between 17.36-17.55 meters (almost 2 meters above normal) since May 1st as indicated by @PoleTheia water level data from Sentinel-6 altimetry.
