You might have been familiar with the below pic which is from 1935. But the above pic is from 1873!
A book cover from GU POPE mentions THIRU VALLUVA NAYANAR. The book name is 'The Sacred Kural of Thiruvalluva - NAyanAr'. Nayanars are Tamil Saints who were devoted to Shiva.
Though there have been many attempts by people around the world, to claim THIRUVALLUVAR and THIRUKKURAL as their identity; these evidences, show us the truth!
*POONOOL was not related to a particular sect or community. All 'SCHOLARS' wore POONOOL on ancient times. It was never an act of discrimination. It denoted the 'SCHOLARSHIP' QUALITY! Recently it has been mis-understood by everyone! SCHOLARSHIP is earned; does not come by birth!
POONOOL also was a symbolic representation, of one who has control over his BODY , MIND & SOUL. A normal person, becomes a SCHOLAR by the knowledge he gains and implies the knowledge, to gain WISDOM!
*SHIVA LINGAM on top of THIRUVALLUVAR'S fore-head represents, he has attained the highest CONSCIOUSNESS (அறம்)/ Abosulte truth/ Ultimate Reality!
A few lines from LINGA-SHTAKAM :
"Sarva sugandhi sulepita lingam..
Bhuddhi vivardhana kaarana lingam.."
Meaning:
I bow to Sadashiva linga, coated with divine fragrances, which enhances the INTELLECT!
"Kanaka mahaamani bhooshitha lingam...
Phanipati veshtitha shobhita lingam.."
Meaning:
The linga form of Sadashiva is adorned with the radiance of gold and wrapped by naagaraja .
"Ashta dalopari veshtitha lingam...
Sarva samudhbhava kaarana lingam.."
Meaning:
The linga form of Sadashiva, adorned with eight -petalled lotus, is the cause of origin of the universe!
'Paraatparam paramaatmaka lingam..
Tat pranamaami sadaashiva lingam!"
Meaning:
I bow to sadaashiva , who is constantly worshipped with celestial flowers and the symbol of supreme consciousness.

'Para' denotes PARASHAKTHI.

Ignorant people say BASAVANNA rejected ritualistic worship and pre- eminence of VEDAS. But, both VEDAS & LINGAYATS converge to say about ONE thing ; THE KUNDALINI; REALIZATION!

The RIG VEDIC HOMA അതിരാത്രം அதிராத்ரம் (Athi-raathram), Agni-chayanam, Somayaagam, Pravargyam has a deeper meaning than the physical.
ATHIRAATRAM is still conducted in Panjal, a village in THRISSUR district. (I've witnessed ATHIRAATRAM myself)
From ADI SHANKARA'S 'SRI TANTRA'' which denotes TRIPURA SUNDARI, to SOMA YAAGA, to KAULACHARA (greatly mis- understood), to LINGAYAT to NAYANMARS to ALWARS , to RIG VEDIC KASHMIRI PANDITS, to VAJRAYANA BHUDHISM all concepts converge to 'RAISING KUNDALINI'.

Kundalini can be raised by women also(but with extreme caution ❌ as women are more emotionally vulnerable)

Only 'WOMEN' chief priests conduct pooja in MANNARSAALA temple , Alappey, kerala.
It is a temple for KUNDALINI related problems & helps for raising kundalini.

PULLUVAN PAATTU புள்ளுவன் பாட்டு , a kind of song is sung in these temples; which helps to overcome kundalini blockages and raise one's KUNDALINI.
We can see this in #SABARIMALA also. Towards the south side of the Sannidhi, there is NAAGA Prathishta; were Pulluvan songs are sung.
Ayyappan the concept is again about raising #KUNDALINI.

In most of temples, whether it be tamilnadu or kerala , NAAGA prathishta is placed on the SOUTH side of the main deity. Even in ancient MANA of kerala, SARPPA KAAVU (சற்ப்ப காவு; സർപ്പ കാവ്) is created on the SOUTH side of the MANA or HOUSE.
Eg: If the main deity of temple is facing east, NAAGA is placed on right side as it is the SOUTH. If main deity is facing west, NAAGA is placed on left, as it is SOUTH. South represents PITRUS( ancestors). A linga is placed on SIDHAR'S SAMADHI.
You can witness this temple structure, next time you visit most temples with NAAGA prathishta!
ADI SHANKARA asks DEVI to come to kerala. Devi agrees to follow him on a condition ;that if he turns back, she would stop at that place and stay there itself ! SHANKARA starts walking. But turns back to check whether DEVI is following or not.
That place came to be known as MOOKAMBIKA, Kolloor Karnataka. But Shankara apologises DEVI for his mistake and requests once again. DEVI accepts his request and comes along with him and settles in a place in kerala. That place came to be known as CHOTTANIKKARA, Ernakulam.
This ALLEGORICAL story means, SHANKARA who raised his KUNDALINI (DEVI/ SHAKTHI) his mind slips away into wordly desires. So, his KUNDALINI SHAKTHI stayed in MOOKAMBIKA. He again raised the KUNDALINI SHAKTHI from MOOLADHARA CHAKRA.
And the KUNDALINI SHAKTHI thus raised, stayed in CHOTTANIKKARA.
KUNDALINI raised can again drop back if, DESIRE and SELFISHNESS come into our mind. So, he again raises his KUNDALINI from MOOLADHARA CHAKRA after sacrificing his EGO, SELFISHNESS & DESIRES!
CHOTTANIKKARA acts as MOOLADHARA CHAKRA. Even now the early morning 1st pooja is done at CHOTTANIKKARA. Only then the pooja is done at MOOKAMBIKA.

MOOKAMBIKA gets its name from MOOKASURAN மோகாசுரன் (the evil desire). By killing it DEVI manifested as MOOKAMBIKA! 🙏

Wherever you see a killing, it represents the killing of EGO & DESIRE!
Sabarimala Ayyappan story is also about the union of divine FEMININE(Vishnu) & MASCULINE(Shiva) ENERGY the result of which is awakened 'KUNDILINI'. Ayyappan staying as NITHYA BRAHMACHARI avoiding Malikapurathamma , means he has STRONG control over his DESIRE !
He sits in PATTA-MOOLA BHANDHASANA a unique yoga pose in which the KUNDALINI always stays at SAHASRARA. Moola Bhandha means to lock the MOOLADHARA.
He uses the 3 locks MOOLA BHANDHA, UDDHIYANA BHANDHA & JALANDHARA BHANDHA forming a 'MAHA BHANDHA' (THE GREAT LOCK)
