At 1pm CEST in roughly 2.5 hours @GretaThunberg will return to the UNFCCC process for the first time in three years and hold a Press Conference at #BonnClimateConference.
The first press conference this morning has relatively few attendees. Chinese Youth are talking up the need for immediate and accelerating urgent action.
Ye Wang is a 16 year old Chinese youth activist.
This seems to be the link to the live webcast feed from the press conference venue. unfccc-events.azureedge.net/SB58_91700/age…
There is a one and a half hour gap in the schedule before @GretaThunberg’s appearance at 1pm - & helpfully given the level of interest in Greta’s presence there are overflow internal broadcasts planned within the conference venue.
Next up the Global Campaign to Demand Climate Justice (DCJ)
Thé webcast for this one is here >> unfccc-events.azureedge.net/SB58_91875/age…, and begins in Spanish. The panel is a global coalition of speakers from different NGOs.
It appears to be entirely in Spanish, we shall see. This is fairly unusual for press conferences at UNFCCC events but is a great move in the lead up to @GretaThunberg’s return to the process today. The panel includes @alexraf Alex Rafalowicz from the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Here’s that quoted thread…..
And here is the information pack on the Fossil Fuel Non Prolifération Treaty. The suggested text is immediately below.
The Treaty proposal has a lot of momentum it seems and is founded in a perceived need to break the UNFCCC cycle of Fossil Fuel Lobby capture of the COP/UNFCCC… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
