Telugu mythological films, are an ingenious genre; so much so that the term itself is often a misnomer. Now that Adipurish is releasing tomorrow, here's a thread of movies based on Ramayana in Telugu Language.(Please Retweet the first tweet, if you appreciate the thread).

Rama Paduka Pattabhishekam (1932)

Based on Lord Rama's fourteen years exile to the forest and Bharata's coronation of Lord Rama's padukas (footwear) on the throne as symbolic representation of Rama's rule.

Bhookailas (1940)

First hit film after the establishment of AVM Productions.
Ravana performs penance to bring Lord Shiva's Aatma Lingam to Lanka. But fearing that the lingam will add to Ravana's might, the gods ask Lord Ganesh to foil his plan.

Ravana keeps Seeta captive and seeks the help of Pathala Lankeswara Mahi Ravana to kill Rama and Lakshmana.
