๐Ÿ“ฃ Day 19: Exposing Gender Ideology in our best UK Schools ๐ŸŒˆ

As we march through Pride Month, let's shine a light on Clifton College, situated in Bristol.

Thread Alert!๐Ÿ‘‡ #PrideMonth @educationgovuk

Clifton College, located in the vibrant city of Bristol in South West England, is a renowned public school that welcomes boys and girls from the ages of 3 to 18.

Dr. Tim Greene is the Head of College at Clifton, bringing a wealth of academic experience from Oxford and the University of Exeter.

In 2015, controversy arose when Jonathan Thomson-Glover, a German teacher and housemaster at Clifton College Upper School, pleaded guilty to 36 offences related to making or possessing indecent images of children. bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-nโ€ฆ

But despite that, Clifton College enthusiastically embraces the LGBTQIA calendar ๐ŸŒˆ and witnesses wholehearted participation from everyone involved in the celebrations! ๐ŸŽ‰

Words can hardly capture the overwhelming excitement that fills the air!

The college stated that the pride parade contributed to their commitment to inclusivity among all students and highlighted the mental health benefits for the entire student population when LGBTQIA+ inclusion is promoted. Source please @Clifton_College? theguardian.com/society/2023/jโ€ฆ

The parade at Clifton College included staff, children, young people, and parents. It followed a lively route with festive decorations, music, and encouraged colourful attire. ๐ŸŒˆ

In 2022, Clifton Pride Society expanded with Pride Action Group, an EDIB focus group for LGBTQ+ activism in the school. Despite a slow start, it gained momentum, allowing them to make a significant impact.

They worked with the English Department, and "Symptoms of Being Human" by Jeff Garvin will be added to the Year 9 English syllabus. This compelling novel portrays the experiences of Riley, a gender-fluid person, highlighting the complexities of being transgender in modern society

The Clifton Hereld, the college newspaper, eagerly unveiled the upcoming summer edition, featuring engaging articles on the climate crisis, conspiracy theories, feminism, and school uniforms.

During the Summer Term, the pride group organised an ally event with guest speaker Briden Whitbread, a Pride alumna. Briden delivered an informative and validating talk on transgender science, simplifying complex concepts for the students.

After half term, the pride group conducted their third 'Pronoun Ambassadors' presentation, where they bravely educated teachers on using and respecting trans and non-binary pronouns.

In 2021, three Sixth Form students engaged in a meaningful discussion about the significance of Pride, the school's support for LGBTQ+ students, and broader global LGBTQ+ issues. Their conversation was insightful and thought-provoking. rb.gy/wvcgr

The Clifton College places importance on comprehensive Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) to provide students with a well-rounded education on personal relationships, sexual health, and wellbeing.

Let's explore the individuals associated with these external providers. Among them is Daniel Guiness, the director of Beyond Equality, who states, "Boys won't be boys, they'll be what we teach them to be." ๐Ÿคจ

The boys may have the opportunity to benefit from the expertise of Tomara 'Social Justice Educator', a former school of sexuality educator who identifies as They/Them. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Or better still, Alice Hoyle, from itHappens, a former staff member of the national children's bureau who played a pivotal role in establishing the independent charity Sex Education Forum.

Her children's book on schizophrenia is sure to be well received!
