Midjourney Describe Guide

How I use "Describe" to write better prompts and (sometimes) strike gold

full process

The base prompt was very short

high fashion portrait, fabric inspired by honeycomb coral, photo by alasdair mclellan, UHD, --ar 2:3

here are the 4 images I initially got
I decided to dig deeper on image 3

The goals are multiple:

1. How to be able to recreate similar images, considering that the initial prompt is very vague and yields very diverse outcomes

2. make something similar but more "real life", Prêt-à-porter result

Enter the Describe function

I ran all 4 suggestions "as is" no modifications
Some interesting, one terrible
Nothing spectacular

I compared the results to my first image and to the new prompts asking the big question:

What can I incorporate in my original prompt to get a better result?

After a few tests here's the final prompt

high fashion portrait, a girl in an orange felt dress is framed by orange modular fabric patterns, intricately sculpted fabric, inspired by honeycomb coral, striking symmetrical patterns, photo by alasdair mclellan, UHD, --ar 2:3

The additions to the original prompt were:
- a girl in an orange felt dress is framed by orange modular fabric patterns
- intricately sculpted fabric
- striking symmetrical patterns

My process is similar to @4rtofficial 's who does some great Midjourney downloadable tutorials and guides

Highly recommended

By the way, this is what a Honeycomb Coral looks like
