"My savior was betrayed by one of his chosen, and I believe we've experienced the same," a weeping Wendell Ladner told Madison County's board today, speaking against rental property.

"Judas was honorable enough to recognize the magnitude of his betrayal and committed suicide." https://t.co/FaBWhHlotz

This group of speakers got started with: "I want to remind each of you why most of us left the Jackson area." 🙄

"This development by D.R. Horton, allegedly, will be the very avenue that begins the destruction of Madison," Regina Edwards concluded.

Lee West opposes new homes not out of self-interest but to protect future home buyers from D.R. Horton, USA's largest homebuilder.

Lee subscribes to Rukia Lumumba's economics. He opposes out-of-state builders just as she opposes out-of-city contractors.

Ralph Sibilia believes the role of government is to prohibit owners of property zoned for residential use from building houses.

Sibilia doesn't believe a county as poor as Madison will be able to maintain roads for any more residents than it already has.

Tip Jacob worries that Madison Crossing Elementary cannot handle any increased enrollment of elementary students.

Absolutely no rentals! None!! ZERO!!!!

Here's yesterday's full supervisor meeting:

The more than hour-long series of speakers who oppose everying—rental homes, leased homes, rent-to-own, low-square-footage homes, etc.—begins at the 14:30 mark.livestream.com/accounts/17271…

MS is paying employers (e.g. Coca-Cola) to leave Hinds (more job-seekers than any other MS county) and move to Madison (already at full employment).

Madison Countians against rentals and starter homes should support @MSRepChrisBell's rail system proposal.

Meanwhile...Chris McDaniel is campaigning for lt. gov by claiming @DelbertHosemann will merge Madison's court w/ Holmes-Yazoo, producing lenient judges.

@bricewigginsMS denies it—but also, Holmes and Yazoo judge repeatedly elect a decidedly punitive judge. https://t.co/BRDWPpatvh
