Rachael is CEO of the innocuously named Catholic-linked think-tank 'Women's Forum Australia'.
Women's Forum Australia hold the position that teenagers should not have access to sex education, and oppose access to reproductive healthcare.
And they are connected. A thread....
/1
When looking at 'think-tanks' it's interesting to look at who else is involved.
Stephanie Bastiaan is a 'Research Fellow' (whatever that is) at Women's Forum Australia.
Stephanie might be familiar to you.
2/
Anti-abortion campaigner Stephanie once sort pre-selection for the Liberal Party. That pre-selection attempt was not successful.
Here she is photographed with Liberal James Newbury and Husband Marcus.
Marcus might be familiar to you too...
3/
Marcus Bastiaan was forced out of the Liberal party after explosive branch stacking allegations implicating him were uncovered.
He was closely linked to a current sitting MP. You might recognise his photo here.
What else was being said about Marcus?
4/
Four years before the branch stacking allegations linked to Bastiaan were revealed, an article was published in The Age, linking Marcus to a 'recruitment drive in Churches'.
The Liberal Party and Churches is of course a continuing theme.
5/
As well as being connected to the Australian Women's Forum, the Bastiaans are connected in other ways. Karina Okotel, Former Vice-President of the Liberal Party was Bridesmaid at the Bastiaan wedding.
Here is Karina in an anti-abortion meeting sitting with Moira Deeming.
6/
Themes and connections often overlap. The same influencers and this 'think-tank' are part of a loosely connected movement.
On March 7, the Women's Forum Australia swiftly and suspiciously published this article on FB from the Tasmanian Examiner.
Why suspicious?
7/
The timing of their Facebook post suggests they might have known the story was coming. It's particulalry curious because it was uncovered that the story of a man in a changing room at Launceston pool was false.
It lead to Editor, Mark Westfield getting the boot. Who is Mark?
8/
It turns out that Mark Westfield prior to becoming editor of The Examiner was in fact the campaign manager for infamous transphobe Katherine Deves, and her ill-fated attempt at winning back Warringah (the seat lost by Tony Abbot).
So many coincidences.
9/
So when Rachael Wong and the catholic linked Women's Forum campaign to limit the books your kids read, remember the incestious relationship to Christian-fascists, bigots, transphobes and branch stackers, all seeking control and influence in the Liberal Party, and your life.
