1/ News: Michigan A.G. @MIAttyGen charges 16 false electors!
This is a strong case.
For starters, the Trump electors' document contained clear false statements like: "we convened and organized in the State Capitol."👇
In truth, they met (secretly) in GOP headquarters basement.
2. Why did the Michigan sixteen falsely claim they convened in the Capitol?
Because MI law requires that location for proper certification.
Trump Campaign's Kenneth Chesebro (criminally referred to DOJ by Jan 6 Select Committee) flagged this as a problem in his secret memo.👇
3. Michigan false electors also acted in great secrecy
They initially planned to hide in Capitol building overnight (Laura Cox congressional testimony)
They were told not to bring cell phones when they came to GOP headquarters basement (Mayra Rodriguez, congressional testimony)
4. This is also incriminating evidence in the July 18 released Michigan Special Agent Affidavit.👇
Recovered text messages:
"Was she not told at the meeting to keep quite[sic]"
"Yes we all were."
5. Former Michigan GOP Chair Laura Cox objected to the false electors’ plan, so did her lawyers.
She proposed language that would have gotten them out of legal trouble. They rejected it.

6. The 16 Michigan false electors, of course, did not act alone.
Indeed, Trump Campaign officials were apparently in the very room when the false certification happened.

9. A key threshold issue for prosecutors is whether bringing charges would be treating like cases alike.
Does the Michigan Attorney General otherwise charge people for these kinds of forgeries in elections?
See below. A strong answer to that question in AG Nessel's statement.👇
