A cute #kafblade moment lost in translation:
So after Kafka told Blade, Dan Heng, and Yan Qing to stop fighting, she said she “can’t have you three misbehaving” in front of Jing Yuan, while in CN she literally said “can’t let you two and MY BLADIE embarrass yourselves” (1/2)

To be more specific, 我家阿刃 literally means “Bladie of our home”. When you say “我家 my house/home+someone”, you’re usually describing your partner or children. It’s common to say 我家+partner’s nick name, so you can interpret it this way if you like. (2/2)

Btw the CN fandom went feral with this, I only just noticed it missing in EN so I think I have to make a post….

Apart from showing intimacy, she also clearly separates Blade from the other two…like he’s mine but you two are outsiders

I’ve seen several replies about this so here it is: 我家 can be used when there’s not a third person, but 我们家 implies there’s at least 3 in total. So I don’t think “our” can perfectly replace 我家.

Also there’s a difference between 我们的 and 我家. You don’t use 我家 or even 我们家 for colleagues or even close friends, while 我们的 can be used for anyone that’s on your side, as in a team or a workplace etc.

I’m only saying how it’s commonly used. It’s up to your interpretation. For me, if I hear it irl I’ll suspect they’re a couple. Calling someone that’s not your actual family or long-time date 我家 must be a heartwarming experience I’m not blessed with. It’s so intimate.

So, see SH as family if you’d like, but it’s definitely not simply “our”. The family/home connotation is always there.

Plus, it’s kind of irrelevant but, you can call your favorite idols or game characters etc 我家xx
just not so much for irl ppl around you.
