#ONEPIECE Theory

Fujitora's True Identity

This theory will take the perspective of Kurouma as he continues his investigation in to the incidents that happened at the Reverie.

I believe that this investigation will lead Kurouma to discovering Fujitora's true identity. Let me explain how.

Kurouma's investigation is focused on finding the connections between several incidents: The murder of Cobra; the disappearance of Vivi; and the raid of the Revolutionary Army.

The solution to this mystery may seem obvious, the answer is Sabo, right?

That is what we're led to believe, but it's not quite true. Sabo had nothing to do with Vivi escaping from CP0.

I've been considering this for a while now, and I have found that there actually is a character who has involvement in all of these situations. Fujitora.

First of all. Fuji was directly involved in the Revolutionary Army's raid. In fact, he actively helped them to free slaves.

Fujitora also had some involvement in the events that led up to the assassination of Cobra. It was Fujitora who approached Cobra & Riku with the petition to abolish the Warlords.

The success of this petition boosted Cobra's confidence in asking the questions that got him killed.

But what about the disappearance of Vivi? Fujitora doesn't have any involvement in that? Right? It is possible that he is involved, or will be.

This piece of foreshadowing, first noticed by @imthedauntlessJ may foreshadow Fujitora's involvement.

Whilst it seemed like no one could find Vivi after she disappeared, there is one person who would have been likely to be able to sense her presence. Fujitora.

We have seen previously that Fujitora is able to sense the presence of individuals on an island scale.

So, Fujitora may be involved in all of these incidents, but how does that get us any closer to discovering his true identity.

I believe that the key clue lies in one of the flags that appeared at the Sabo parade.

The Shimotsuki flag.

Fujitora's is a member of the Shimotsuki?!

Oda may have actually been hinting at this all along, as one of Fujitora's character traits is being a gambler.

@sandman_AP has pointed before that all of Zoro's family follow a gambling theme.

Coincidence?

If Fujitora really is a member of the Shimotsuki clan, then how does he fit in?

Fujitora is 54 years old, and Kozaburo left Wano 50 years ago. He could be Kozaburo's son.

However, if Fujitora was Kozaburo's son, then Zoro would have known him as his master's brother. This makes it very unlikely.

The SBS 106 told us of that 15 of the 25 people who sailed with Kozaburo decided not to settle.

Young Issho may have been among them.

I believe that this is true, and that Fujitora is in fact a member of the Shimotsuki clan. But why does that matter?

This revelation would be significant because we now know that the Shimotsuki are allies of the Revolutionary Army!

We first learned of this back in ch. 589.

This connection was then more recently subtly confirmed by the appearance of the Shimotsuki flag at the parade celebrating Sabo.

The crossed swords emblem is the symbol of the Shimotsuki clan.

Putting all of this together. I believe that Kurouma's investigation will lead him to discovering Fujitora's true identity.

Fujitora's real name is: Shimotsuki Issho!
