#OnePiece1095 review, carrying on from the last chapter with the themes of the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie this one shall aptly be titled, white supremacy of the One Piece World

(mild note not a coincidence Buggy is on the title page read linked threads for more)

This chapter starts re emphasizing the position of the gorosei with a little bit more added to the world building of the knowledge people have on them, slowly drip feeding us the knowledge base of the average marine with their view on hierarchal positions stemming from the WG

To which oda then demonstrates the sheer amount of physical prowess they possess with visible haki that even the grunts can see, beautifully paralleling the technological futuristic island of egghead, demonic haki fills the air, I cannot wait to see this animated

With the next page focusing on not just the hierarchal consequences of Bonney's actions in stabbing a member of the goroei but truly emphasizing the physical differences between him and Bonney through the final panel

With the next page Saturn returning the blow and recovering all the damage he received while fodderizing Sanji all with the brilliant line telling us the reader that Saturn in fact chose to be stabbed

following up with him reiterating the difference between him and the marines around him both physically and from an official hierarchal position

much like with kaido acknowledging the luffy and the scabbards are strong with Jack struggling to hold them off we have the same with Saturn and Kizaru's failure with Nikka

Saturn then decides to target Nikka himself

Franky also going onto impress saturn, a link below for more of an analysis here on Saturns words, Franky being impressed with the role his captain is taking in the world really speaks to his character and the duality of him and usopp

Here Oda uses Saturn to draw our attention to the broader scope of the 2 specific characters in front of us that will come up later

this tying back to my theory on the will of all things and fate, or in this case the strength of ones fate representing the will of the material reality around the individual to protect them from harm

With Saturn redrawing focus on the point of his mission and arc overall while simultaneously demonstrating his cruelty to we the reader

the doubling down of the cruelty demonstrating what the world government truly wanted from Vegapunk, the removal of humanity from his scientific creations and research, delving directly into the humanity from the person within his research into the lineage factor

with Sanji and Franky demonstrating the pressure the physical presence of a goreosei exerts onto normal people unable to protect Bonney, Vegapunk says what we are all thinking regarding devil fruits and Saturn,

I can't help but feel like this might be a red herring from Oda with this not being a devil fruit but rather Saturn just being a devil

moving onto the main focus of the chapter, what seemed like cruelty enacted through class solidarity to reaffirm strict hierarchal positions within society from the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie was in reality far more insidious in nature stemming from racial superstructures

enforced through the dictatorship of the proletariat, and hence the title of this thread white supremacy of the one piece world

with the revelation of the genocidal intentions behind the tragedy that befell Kuma and the name drop of the special race he told Bonney about the buccaneer people (the people I theorize are the original people of the lost eye of Jaya) we start the even darker turn of the chapter

With the starting of the flashback we get the dreams of the Kuma being told to his daughter, to be a hero who whose justice sides with emancipation

with the following Usopp thread posted earlier to not derail this thread, Kuma emphasizing the Haitian vibe of Joyboy with the Haitian revolution romanticized by leftists the world over for centuries now, dancing with his child to the Haitian drum beats

With Bonney remembering her father as she feels what might be her last moments alive and Vegpunk giving a huge suggestion for the Bonney is a child theories

we get our first glimpse of the sorbet kingdom, with buildings that look like popsicles (as noted by Library of Ohara whose video I will be linking later in this review)

we see Kuma's first moments seeing his loving parents

we see the panic on the doctor's face who tried to help by covering up the truth about Kuma and his father's race from a genocidal world government that will go onto force them into slavery for the rest of their lives (Clapp and his wife)

With Clapp's please to protect his wife and child from the same fortune that befalls him for reasons entirely beyond his control being denied his wife remains by his side never begrudging him for his race

With Oda going onto demonstrate how much the celestial dragons value Kuma as a slave due to his race but simultaneously showing us just how cruel they are to him because of that fact

With Clapp putting on as brave a face as he can when telling Kuma the news about his mother dying we get the heartbreaking look on his face as he is unable to hold back tears

Kuma here expressing that he himself rather be dead is when the story of Nikka first gets taught to him, the strength to persevere through the hardship coming from a story told in the culture of the buccaneer people serving as a vessel of dreams for people craving emancipation

but even this cannot be a moment not full of pain for the young kuma as his farther is killed in front of his young eyes during this point by their master

Moving 9 years ahead from the start of the flashback when Kuma was born we get the revelation of the celestial dragons having a worlds "deadliest game" with genocidal intent, with my having done 3 threads now on the treasure all linked below

Sidenote

God Valley being based on a place in America really makes this deadliest game parallel the slave fights from Django Unchained which was based on real things slave masters would do, a twist by Oda on the evil nature of those atop hierarchal positions carry out

we find out that this is taking place on god valley leading us to the conclusion that this is the god valley incident (most likely), for more about my thoughts on this here is the first part of my mega theory

With the monarch of the country being executed the person who would know the secrets the country holds right off the bat by Garling (Shanks most likely father) we get another emphasis on the hierarchal differences between the celestial dragons and the monarchy of nations

Here we get our first real look at a young Garling, seeing that the Holy Knights do not wear the space helmets like the other celestial dragons and the architecture of the buildings looking like the American cowboy west, the forefront of European colonialism and genocidal

behaviour towards a first nations people, echoing the sentiment from the fisher tiger flashback with the racial hierarchical relations most resembling that of America with a history mimicking their civil rights era but under the sea

but in this instance more akin to the experience of the first nation peoples of America, much like we saw through Skypiea and the retelling of the movie dancing with wolves we also see Saturn looking exactly the same highly suggesting immortality for him as well

we then get the continuation of the flashback from what Bonney saw before with people beating a fleeing Kuma, we now know the context is in relation to this game the Celestial Dragon's play

, with what looked like a target with celestial dragon markings on it before now seeming like the symbol that tells not just us the reader but the players of the game that Kuma is the prize, and the person who kills him gets the title of

"having comitted the final stage of the genocide" by wiping out the gene pool of the race once and for all, incentivizing other slaves to capture them as less of them are to die if the game ends earlier by the killing of the final solution-esque prize

but before we get to what is said next in the chapter I want to focus on Oda's excellent usage of young Iva in this position, the picking up of Bon Clay in impel down vibes here is perfect not just thematically and a beautiful parallel

but also just as thematically perfect and beautiful for a pirate story talking about the evils of white supremacy and colonialism as cis normativity was something explicitly pushed through and by it with cultural domination coming through violence against Indian people who didn't

conform (see the Hijra people) but also the 2 spirit of the first nation people who were mislabelled as indians as well who were genocided and whose children were forced into residential schools and then had cis normativity imposed upon them through said schooling systems

Onto Ginny the girl the theorists have gone wild over possibly being Luffy or Bonney's mother going back to when Saturn drew focus to the fate of Bonney and Luffy, with the fandom questioning not who the daddy is but who the momma is

@STOPHEATHERTIME like we discussed lol

@STOPHEATHERTIME With Iva's Yeehaw feeling perfectly in context with the cowboy theme of the location it'd be real easy to think Iva was from here the entire time, with them casually dropping further lore about Kuma's race, with the themes of racial supremacy in this chapter

@STOPHEATHERTIME and it relating to giants, we might be able to work out what the original sin that buccaneers engaged in that brought about this collective punishment

@STOPHEATHERTIME I will drop a video from the library of ohara where he discusses the Kuma "paw print" actually being related to his tribe the thread explaining it will come in another day as this is just a review but it seems to relate heavily to my own mega theory relating to the world tree

@STOPHEATHERTIME

@STOPHEATHERTIME here we have the confirmation of Iva's face being big even when they were a child and just like Bon Clay they exude the strength to live and thrive even in the most brutal of hells

@STOPHEATHERTIME @threadreaderapp unroll
