Newsguard was initially SEED funded majorly by Publicis Group. Which later partnered with them.

Publicis group also runs Publicis Live which runs all World Economic Forum activities in Davos, including apartment rentals. Yes every damn meeting by the WEF is handled by the main seed funder of Newsguard. Then in 2021 Publicis partnered with them too.

2019 NewsGuard has raised about $6 million at a valuation of around $20 million. Its biggest corporate backer is Publicis, an advertising holding company.

This tool provides Publicis clients with a constantly updated exclusion list to protect them from having their ads unintentionally fund thousands of misinformation and hoax websites.

NewsGuard, Publicis Groupe Partner to Combat Misinformation and Disinformation on Behalf of Advertising Clients

Publicis Groupe’s healthcare media agency, Publicis Health Media, also recently partnered with NewsGuard on the launch of its HealthGuard browser plug-in to power a new public service campaign, “VaxFacts,” following a rise in misinformation and hoaxes relating to the COVID-19 health crisis and vaccine development.

NewsGuard: this exclusive partnership gives all Publicis Groupe clients access to the “Responsible Advertising in the media” tool (“RANS” Responsible Advertising for New Segments), which allows them to include or exclude sites, in order to prevent their ads from unintentionally funding infox or misinformation or disinformation sites.

The Epsilon database, which includes 260 million American profiles (TSP – Total Source Plus), from more than 40 different sources, is refreshed every six weeks, to ensure the success of targeted actions or the activation of certain consumer Groupes.

In 2020, NewsGuard was selected as a winner of a contest run by the National Security Innovation Network, a joint State Department and Department of Defense group seeking solutions that would help the agencies “evaluate disinformation narrative themes in near real time.”



The UK Government’s Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) analyzes public conversations to inform government policy and communications with the help of Pulsar and its NewsGuard integration.
