#Thread 🧵
Do you remember, in Feb, 2019, when Wing Commandar Abhinandan Varthaman was in Pakistan’s custody and the entire nation was praying for his return, it was a strong India led by PM Modi that ensured the pilot’s return pressuring Pakistan through its diplomatic channels but then there were many liberals in the country who were giving credits to the Pakistanis and their then PM Imran Khan terming it as his goodwill gesture.
Ex Indian High Commissioner’s Ajay Bisaria’s upcoming book “Anger Managment : The troubled Diplomatic Relationship between India and Pakistan” reveals it all.
It was PM Modi’s sheer diplomatic efforts that forced Pakistan to release Wing Commandar Abhinandan Varthaman, who in Feb, 2019 fell into enemy’s custody after an aerial dogfight post Pulwama incident.
Bisaria’s book revealed as to how Prime Minister Modi’s diplomatic efforts led to envoys of west in Pakistan particularly US and UK in making the Islamic nation understand how serious was India’s threat to escalate the situation if any harm was caused to the India pilot.
Liberal like Rajdeep Sardesai, Prashant Bhushan, Shobha De and Barkha Dutt were then seen applauding then Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan terming it as his goodwill gesture.
Their tweets then are testimony to this fact that they left no stone unturned to give credit to Pakistan for the release Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman and not to Modi’s strong diplomacy that led to his release.
Nikhil Wagle, Harinder Baweja, Salil Tripathi and Sagarika Ghose were others seen writing words of applause for Imran Khan and trying to belittle PM’s efforts.
The pressure to release Abhinandan on Pakistan was such that its high commissioner to India Sohail Mahmood gave a midnight call to Ajay Bisaria urging him that Pak PM Imran Khan was very keen to talk to PM Modi.
Bisara’s got back to Pak high commissioner informing him that Indian PM was not availbale at that hour.
Few more names of the Le-Li gang, who were trying hard to prove it as Imran Khan government’s ‘statesmanship’ .
