./ The Great Conversion Therapy Ban Cover Up.
The Scottish government invited journos in a few days ago to brief them on its proposed CT Ban. Guess what wasn't mentioned? The ONLY research from the UK ever conducted into the subject, from 2021.

./ The Scottish govt instead quoted from a 2017 National LGBT Survey; as now all Ban supporters insist on doing. But if the LGBT Survey was such useful evidence why did the UK govt commission specific research into Conversion Therapy, from a team at Coventry Yooni? Here's why.👉
./ The Coventry research team spelled out why we should not rely on the National Survey. First, it wasn't a randomised trial therefore "it is not possible to make robust claims...or causal inferences". The Survey also relied on self-reporting. Guess what they said about that.👉
./ By being self-selecting the findings of the National Survey are "vulnerable to biases". The Coventry team also complained recruiting through networks "may introduce sampling biases". The National Survey had used silly activist networks like @OzanneFoundn. Course they did,
./ For these reasons the National Survey is no more accurate than any straw poll conducted among angry activists and drunk people at Pride marches (where people were indeed recruited). Why then didn't the Coventry research get a mention at the Scottish govt's press conference?
./ The problem was the Coventry Report struggled to find much evidence of conversion therapy in the UK. So much so they had to trawl through "entries for conversion therapy in Wikipedia". Yep! WIKIFUCKINGPEDIA. Why didn't they just flick thru the Beano while they were at it?
./ As for the previous research they analysed, 35 of the 46 studies were from the US. The UK is the most secular nation in the world. Why would we base our policy on research from a country full of fruitloopy evangelicals who DO often offer so-called "gay reparative therapy"?
./ What's worse most of these studies were from 10-20 years ago. 2003/4 was another world in terms of homophobia. The Equality Act was only passed here in 2010. Only 3 studies were from the UK. What relevance can these old, American studies have to us in the UK now? Zilch.
./ In addition to that old research, the Coventry team interviewed people today. But they only managed to pull together a whopping THIRTY "LGBT" people who claimed to have been offered or undergone "Conversion Therapy" in the last 20 years. Even then they acknowledged problems.
./ With fabulous understatement the Coventry team admitted of the 30 people they dredged up, "their experiences may not represent current practices". You don't say? And "such accounts may not always be entirely accurate due to needing to rely on people's memories". No shit.
./ There's another reason the Ban Campaign has ignored the ONLY actual research from the UK specifically into Conversion Therapy. And from only 3 years ago. Guess what? A third of interviewees reported secondary benefits from their experience of the "Therapy". Whoops....
./ Yep, far from all the Coventry research interviewees being traumatised by "conversion therapy", one third reported "a sense of connection and belonging with other men in the same situation". I was amazed as, I bet, the Coventry team were by the findings. But facts are facts.
13. Or they should be. Interviewees cited "lasting friendships..and a sense of community." One said, "it's still helped me today with things that aren't to do with my sexuality". So much for all that talk about electrocution and beatings. The Coventry research gets stranger.👉
./ The team could find only 6 trans people in the whole of the UK who'd been offered Conversion Therapy in the last TWO DECADES; and only 3 of them claimed to have undergone it. All this is why its findings have had to be airbrushed. It didn't fit the preconceived narrative. 👉
./ RECAP. The Coventry research was commissioned precisely because the LGBT Survey did not pass muster as serious evidence. When it then proved to be the dampest of squibs the LGBTQ+ lobby tried to bury it. By the way, don't imagine the Coventry work had a Gender Critical bias.
./ Far from it. This research was commissioned at the high-tide of Stonewall influence at Westminster. The head of the Coventry team, Adam Jowett (he/him inevitably) was a paid up LGBTQ+ activist who cared so little about neutrality he retweeted attacks on @RosieDuffield1.
./ He also lampooned the Nolan Investigates podcast which exposed the baleful influence of Stonewall. That's why his team's inability to come up with any evidence that "conversion therapy" in the UK is either widespread or universally traumatic is so important. And telling.
./ We're told by the LGBTQ+ lobby that so-called conversion therapy haunts the land; torturing gay and/or trans people. Yet even when a lavishly-funded, hand-picked group of LGBTQ+ activists tried hard to find any evidence they failed pathetically. Is that cos it doesn't exist?
./ No one wants anyone gay, trans or whatever, to be forced into changing their identity or even their viewpoint. The truth tho is the only time anyone researched the subject seriously they found no evidence it's happening on a scale that should make it any sort of priority.
./ The tragedy is the LGBTQ+ lobby is manufacturing a fact-free scare about "conversion therapy" in order to enforce so-called "gender affirmation". This deliberate transing of gender non comforming kids is the real conversion therapy. And the scandal of our age.
