/8 Yuriy Butusov's analysis of the situation north of Kharkiv. Update by @joni_askola

/8 Renowned Ukrainian war journalist Yuriy Butusov provided an evaluation of the situation in the Kharkiv region.

/8 According to him, the progress of russian forces has decelerated as they encounter defensive positions and experience escalating losses. Nevertheless, he notes that certain existing fortifications were constructed in inappropriate locations.

/8 He also mentions that russian forces have not yet reached the primary fortifications and highlights instances of misunderstanding among Ukrainian troops regarding the intended locations of the fortifications, as they are not strategically linked to natural elevations.

/8 It's crucial to comprehend that the primary defensive lines and fortifications cannot be situated directly at the border, as it constitutes a grey zone. This clarifies the initial rapid advancement of russian forces.

/8 The leadership of the OTU Kharkiv underwent a change, with Brigadier General Mykhailo Drapaty replacing Yuriy Galushkin. Drapaty, formerly the Deputy Chief of the General Staff and commander of the Operational Troop Group "Kherson", assumed the new role.

/8 The situation continues to be challenging, and Ukrainian units require more drones.
