Nearly 25 years gave passed since kargil war .the battle testified mountain warfare capabilities of indian army . In this thread we will talk about some intresting facts and statistics related to kargil war .

In beginning of the operations nearly 446 millitary special trains carrying all logistical equipment as well as the troops and ammunition were mobilized towards the western borders.
The indian army military brass was somewhat unhappy about Prime minister vajpayee's declaration of not crossing LOC or IB . As per COAS sir @Vedmalik1 this issue was raised . If indian army weren't able to clear the intrusions they would have to cross the IB .

The millitary buildup along the western border was going on smoothly . However the escalation was avoided with recapture of tololing and pt 5414 . Tololing was deepest intrusion carried by pak intruders . Once tololing fell indian successes would be more swift.
Indian army overall employed some 50 fire units comprising artillery guns ; mortars and rockets .
All these units fired 250000 rounds/rockets for a period of 90 days sometimes in space of 5minutes some 1200 rounds of explosives were fired at tololing and tiger hill.
The army aviation corps comprising 2 squadrons flew 2500 missions and 2700 flight hours. They initially airlifted 240 troops and about 200 tons ammunition.
