/13 Betraying humanity as a whole: the European far right is rife with unhinged pro-russians, but so is the left.
/13 The prevalence of pro-russians within the European far right is a frequent topic of discussion, and for good reason. Numerous examples across Europe highlight the unacceptability of this situation. Far-right pro-russians are among the worst individuals in Europe.
/13 Unfortunately, the left also harbors a significant number of unhinged pro-russians, yet this aspect is discussed much less frequently.
/13 During Zelensky's speech to the Assemblée Nationale in France, the majority of the far left and far right did not attend. Mélenchon and his party have been promoting a pro-russian rhetoric for years.
/13 Mélenchon's anti-Western sentiment has blinded him, leading him to adopt a pro-russian stance. For years, he has exerted dictatorial control within his own party and wields significant influence over it, despite the presence of party members who support Ukraine.
/13 In Germany, Sahra Wagenknecht, a prominent figure in the left-wing, is staunchly pro-russian and has recently veered further into unhinged conspiracy theories and support for genocide. While she is a disgrace to the country, she remains very popular.
/13 Corbyn's influence has significantly waned in recent years, yet his views on Ukraine and russia are deeply troubling. It is difficult to overstate how misguided his perspectives are in every conceivable manner.
/13 Certainly, if you were to ask these individuals, most would not openly admit to supporting russia. Some may even claim to support Ukraine or profess neutrality. However, their rhetoric consistently aligns with the direction favored by the Kremlin.
/13 It is important to remind these individuals that maintaining neutrality in a situation of injustice effectively takes the side of the oppressor, although they are likely already aware of this.
/13 For individuals, especially those who claim to care for the oppressed and vulnerable, to support russia in its perpetration of genocide in Ukraine is completely illogical. This support has been made possible by russian money and anti-NATO sentiment.
/13 Finland's Li Andersson, who supports Ukraine within the Left, has called for the removal of pro-russian traitors from the group, including Clare Daly and Mick Wallace.
/13 Europeans who endorse russia and its perpetration of genocide in Ukraine, regardless of their political leanings, bring shame upon Europe and humanity as a whole.
