A pro-Palestinian protest outside of Adas Torah is here, blocking entrance. LAPD arriving with less lethal. In Pico-Robertson, Los Angeles, CA.

The area is very tightly packed.

Nominally, the pro-Palestinian faction here to stop a real estate sale in Israel and Gaza. I’ve been unable to independently confirm that the real estate sale is happening.

LAPD pushing back pro-Palestinian demonstrators.

There’s a second front of the pro-Palestine protest on the other side of the synagogue as well. Doing my best to keep an eye on that one as well.

LAPD presence is high, as are the amount of private security for the synagogue in Pico-Robertson.

Things escalating quickly, updating as quickly as possible. Another large violent event happens as several police officers go into the crowd. LAPD and Magen Am and a few protesters chasing one pro-Palestinian demonstrator. Another scuffle occurs nearby.

More bear spray deployed, it hit both sides including a photographer who looked to be going through it pretty bad.

LAPD calling an unlawful assembly, saying it’s on both sides on Pico. Notably, they are way off script and have varied between immediately, 10 minutes and 15 minutes.

Will update as I can.

Police have pushed both sides onto Pico and Crest at the dueling demonstrations between pro-Israel and pro-Palestine demonstrators. Seeing shoving, threats.

Many small fights ringing out after LAPD pushed both sides onto Pico in the Pico-Roberson neighborhood after a pro-Palestine and pro-Israel demonstration. Saw @TinaDesireeBerg get pushed from behind. A pro-Israel demonstrator threatened to burn @Katerqburns at the stake.

@TinaDesireeBerg @Katerqburns As some pro-Palestinian protesters were leaving, a small group of pro-Israel protesters followed and briefly attempted to block their vehicles. A rabbi’s headwear was removed by pro-Israel demonstrators. They’ve shouted and threatened him a few times for attempting to keep peace

@TinaDesireeBerg @Katerqburns One brawl in Pico-Robertson, LA is much larger, left at least one pro-Israel demonstrator bloody and lots of punches thrown towards pro-Palestine demonstrators. Bear mace in the air. Multiple other fights. Chaotic to say the least.

@TinaDesireeBerg @Katerqburns Things continuing, both crowds now walking through Pico-Robertson exchanging the occasional fight and lots of taunts. Pro-Palestinian protesters appear to be attempting to walk away or through the neighborhood. Pro-Israel demonstrators following them.

@TinaDesireeBerg @Katerqburns The dueling protests have devolved - it is now pro-Palestine demonstrators being followed by several hundred pro-Israel supporters. More bear mace and another fight.

Things still going on with random moments of violence. I haven’t seen an officer in probably an hour, maybe more.

The dueling Palestine/Israel protest now on Doheny and Olympic in LA.

Pro-Palestine demonstrators still leaving the area. Some appear to have at least minor injuries. Pro-Israel supporters following them making threats and taunts:

Beverly Hills Police Department offering to follow the pro-Palestinian demonstrators and asking how many went down the street. Pro-Israel supporters cheering.

The pro-Palestinians were chased by pro-Israel protesters; a few hit. Running at full speed towards LAPD Officers. LAPD batonning them and told them to go back. A Shmira person trying to tell them that they were being chased and needed to be escorted out but was also batonned.

Eventually some of the pro-Palestinian demonstrators were let into the police line. Others were attacked nearby.

LAPD Officers watching Pro-Palestine demonstrators being shoved and hit by pro-Israel group. Pro-Palestine demonstrators pleading with officers for help.

LAPD beginning to clear one intersection. I’ve seen various platoons around Pico-Robertson and seen a few more chases and assaults throughout the neighborhood.
