As referenced in the above image, the FBI has been ramping up its efforts to infiltrate gamer chatrooms.
According to a GAO report from February, last year "the FBI worked to increase engagement with gaming and gaming-adjacent companies"

The Biden administration will tell you they need to infiltrate gamer chatrooms for public safety reason. But sometimes it's their own agents who are the bad actors.
Last August, for instance, an FBI contractor was arrested for grooming gamers on Discord

The most notorious example of this was Buffalo shooter Peyton Gendron, who had been in touch with a "retired federal agent" ahead of his killing spree
