Everything must be viewed through the lens of Trump's extreme narcissism.
Even Trump's sociopathy occurs in the service of his Narcissism.
As explained in my analysis of @gtconway3d's & @duty2warn's conversation of @psychopac24’s ad:
“Trump’s narcissism > his sociopathy”:
1/
In 2019, there was a @JimVandeHei interview of Trump where Trump appeared to get emotional talking about:
“I want to be nice. I don’t want to be this way, but I have to be this way”.
I wrote about how Trump is counterintuitively a "people pleaser".
2/
With regards to racism, there may elements of narcissism (grandiosity, superiority complex) that factor in.....
....which may rise to the level of sociopathy (reckless disregard for the safety of others) when it metastasizes to "White Supremacy".
3/
As Trump's nephew explained...
...Trump's narcissism not only may explain his feelings (grandiosity) towards people of color...
...but it explains his actions/statements:
"Racism is the currency used to purchase narcissistic supply from his base":
4/
This analysis also applies to Trump's misogyny.....
.....and his use of "humor" to humiliate his enemies:
5/
I've recently discussed Trump's "people pleaser" orientation when analyzing why the assassination attempt will not only not have a positive effect on Trump, but will actually make him worse.

Let's expand upon this thread to include and analyze Trump's appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists....and look at it through the lens of Trump's narcissism...
13/
People, such as @Scaramucci, question why Trump did this interview.
One of the things to remember is that people are siloed in their information bubbles. Trump has not only repeated his claim that he’s done more for black people than any president in history so many times that he probably believes it……
....but most/all of the black people who he comes into contact with are kissing his ass and telling him how wonderful he is because he surrounds himself with tribal sycophants.
14/
At some point, Trump (and his people) probably start to believe his/their narratives about how much he’s done for black people, and how much they love him ("polls are up!)...
....that he/they start to believe it.
14/
We saw this dynamic play out in the 2022 midterm election when MAGA/Republicans had convinced themselves that there was going to be a “Red Wave”….
….because they kept telling each other that there was going to be a “Red Wave”.
15/
So with that in mind there are several things that may be factoring in with Trump's behavior at the NABJ:
1. Trump literally believes he’s done great things for the black community…..
...and that these black women are “ungrateful”…..not groveling to him (grandiosity).
16/
2. Trump may be surprised to have been “ambushed” by the ungrateful black journalists....
.....because he’s accustomed to Harris Faulkner, Lawrence Jones, Charles Payne, Candace Owens, Jason Whitlock, Tim Scott, Royce White…..kissing his ass.
17/
3. Trump was looking for conflict…..
....looking to own the “blacks" (Trumpian voice inflection intended).
....because some in his base eat it up, and give him positive reinforcement for this behavior:
18/
Trump is engaging in something I coined 10+ years ago when observing Cluster B people in my personal life:
The “Manipulation of the interaction timeline”
Trump is dismissing his own initial egregious actions/statements (some of which were read to him just minutes before)....
....and is focusing on the rational reaction to his actions/statements, in order to “manipulate” the “timeline” (when the conflict started)....
......in order to make himself the victim....
....and to characterize the people responding to his initial actions/statements as the aggressors who are "unfairly" attacking him.
19/
5. I’ve recently analyzed Trump’s pathological concept of "unfairness" here:
20/
6. Trump impulsively couldn’t avoid sabotaging his long term goals/interests (recruit, or at least hold onto gains he’s made with, black voters)...
....because he couldn’t resist the impulsive temptation of taking a short term “win” (the satisfaction of attacking the journalists).
Trump is a walking marshmallow test:
21/
As far as the hype around Trump "tightening" the water bottle.......
Yes, that's absolutely something Trump would do.....
(remember when he gave the female astronaut the middle finger when she corrected him?)
22/
But when I watched it, I interpreted it as him reaching for water when in the middle of conflict......grabbing the wrong one.....starting to open it before putting it down s could speak....and then drinking out of it later.
