Day 988 of #Russia's war in Europe, and the continent's leaders meet today not knowing if the President of the biggest member of NATO is now a friend or foe.

#Kyiv and #Odesa were the main targets overnight in #Russia's attack, with damage to both cities.

More on that in forthcoming posts, but first the link back to the start of yesterday's thread.

Still #Russia throws bodies at #Ukraine on the front line, quite literally. Another 1,400 sacrificed for Putin's imperialistic dream.

Some other categories ticking up a little too. 10 x tanks, 8x special equipment and 78 vehicles, though these are mostly small motorised bikes.

One man was injured in #Odesa.

Luckily, the 30 year old was the only victim when an 11-storey building and numerous cars and a gas pipeline were damaged.

#Russia's attack drones swarmed the southern city, with falling debris a regular problem.

The #UK has sanctioned 56 more people and entities helping #Russia's military machine.

28 companies are targeted including the Russian mercenary group "Africa Corps".

Now to #Kyiv, where there was even more damage than in #Odesa.

The air alert lasted all night (more than 8 hours)
Six districts of the city were affected by falling debris or drone strikes.

UAVs flew low over #Ukraine's capital today and one block suffered a direct hit.

In #Kyiv, only two injuries are reported after the night attack. Some people had become a little blasé about the sirens, but with #Russia's improved models and density of attacks, no-one takes a chance any more and heads to shelters.

Much later than usual, #Ukraine's air force released details of the overnight attack and it was a big one!

106 killer drones were fired by #Russia.

74 were shot down and 25 stopped with EW.
No news of any returning to Russia nor #Belarus, so 7 hit Ukrainian territory.

#Russia's drone attack also caused problems in two more of #Ukraine's oblasts.

Emergency power outages were applied in #Zhytomyr and #Rivne regions.

An employee at a gas (petrol) station has been killed in #Sumy region.

#Russia's drones hit a high rise building as well as the service station. Railway infrastructure was also damaged and a woman aged 53, a worker for rail company Ukrzaliznytsia, was also injured.

The first graphic is a translation of the report, showing a #Russia Z blogger admitting infantry last under a month because they throw in untrained soldiers.

#Zaporizhzhia has been hit by more aerial bombs.

Another hospital and more residential buildings were struck.

There are wounded, but numbers have not been given.

Four people are known to have died in #Russia's latest attack on civilians.

Some locals say their relatives are still missing and thought to be trapped under rubble. In the last half hour two people were rescued.

Only two injuries reported by officials in #Odesa. The school damaged was a famous 125 year old lyceum, although it had been recently refurbished.
