JUNIOR EUROVISION 2024 SONGWRITER DEEP DIVE 🇪🇺📊🕸️
With less than 10 days to go, it's time to take a look at the teams behind each song. Though the artists have no previous involvement with Eurovision by nature, 14/17 songs have known Eurovision names behind them (A thread 🧵)
🇦🇱 Nikol Çabeli - "Vallëzoj"
Just like last year, Albania's entry was written by fan favourite writer Eriona Rushiti. She is known for succesful FiK entries like "Kthëju tokës", "Duje" and "Zjarri im". Also in the mix is JESC 2022-writer Endri Muçaj
🇦🇲 Leo - "Cosmic Friend"
Big names in the mix here, with the team behind "Qami Qami" and "Do It My Way" involved again. Maléna (Arpine Martoyan) won the contest herself in 2021, while Tokionine (David Badalyan) and Vahram Petrosyan have experience in the Armenian scene
🇨🇾 Maria Pissarides - "Crystal Waters"
Ten years after performing the beloved Cypriot JESC-entry "I pio omorfi mera", Sophia makes her return to the Eurovision world, this time as a writer. Could we see her take the adult Eurovision stage soon?
🇪🇪 Annabelle - "Tänavad"
Sven Lõhmus' name is synonymous with Estonia at Eurovision. Apart from writing the majority of Laura Põldvere's entries, he has also been behind other succesful songs like "Rockefeller Street", "Rändajad", and "Päästke noored hinged"
🇫🇷 Titouan - "Comme ci, comme ça"
France's songwriter list takes us back to "Destination Eurovision 2018", where Malo' (Malory Legardinier) took 3rd place, including a 2nd place televote finish. Will he be able to continue Frances winning streak?
🇬🇪 Andria Putkaradze - "To My Mom"
By far the biggest writer in Georgia's ESC history, Giga is back in JESC once again. His previous entries have reached the top 5 eight times, including two wins. One of those wins, "Mzeo" was written with Maka Davitaia, who is also on this song
🇮🇹 Simone Grande - "Pigiama party"
Paolo Meneguzzi was in Sanremo during the 00's, but among Eurofans he is most known for fan-favourite ESC 2008 entry "Era stupendo". He is joined by a former Sanremo cowriter Luca Mattioni, and Alex Uhlmann, who previously had a song in UVPSM
🇲🇹 Ramires Sciberras - "Stilla ċkejkna"
The team behind Malta's JESC 2020 entry "Chasing Sunsets" returns. Peter Borg has also been involved with other Maltese songs, most recently MESC entry "How Special You Are"
🇳🇱 Stay Tuned - "Music"
Willem Laseroms is here again with his third entry, after "Teenager" in 2011 and "Dans met jou" in 2019, the latter of which was cowritten by Jermain van der Bogt, who is also on "Music"
🇲🇰 Ana and Aleksej - "Marathon"
Brother-sister team Lazar Cvetkovski and Magdalena Cvetkovska makes their return, having previously written songs like "Proud", "Fall From the Sky", "Pred da se razdeni" and Macedonian JESC 2019 entry "Fire"
🇵🇱 Dominik Arim - "All Together"
Two versatile songwriters, Aldona Dąbrowska and Sławomir Sokołowski have written songs for Eurovision under various pseudonyms, making it to Eurovision with both Jet Set's "Time to Party" and Michał Szpak's "Color of Your Life"
🇸🇲 Idols SM - "Come noi"
Miodio were San Marino's first ever Eurovision entrants, with the band attempting a comeback in 2022. Now they are making their 3rd appearance in the Eurovision world, this time as writers
🇪🇸 Chloe DelaRosa - "Como la Lola"
The team behind last year's second place "Loviu" returns. Between them they have also written Andorra's 2007 entry, and several entries for Spanish finals, like Jorge Gonzalez' "Caliente"
🇺🇦 Artem Kotenko - "Hear Me Now"
Ukrainian pop star Tarabarova is back, after once again taking on a role in the Ukrainian selection process. Will she make the top 5 again after last year's succes?
The following 3 do not seem to have any. Who know, maybe we'll see the writers getting involved with Eurovision again in the future
