After more than a decade working in the election integrity space, we’ve seen a lot.  Now, with the majority of America demanding election process improvements, let’s start a dialogue about a better way forward.

@TrueTheVote has put together a comprehensive roadmap to help rebuild trust and improve accuracy and efficiency in our electoral system -  through 10 key reforms.

Let’s dive into the highlights of this plan to safeguard integrity and protect voter rights. 🗳️

🧵 1. American Voter ID (AVID)

A decentralized, state-managed photo ID system using technology similar to blockchain. Distributed ledger among states, secure and accurate verification, no compromise of  privacy. Public support? 84% of Americans back this reform! 📸

🧵2. Clean Voter Rolls

Approx 16% of voter records across America contain disqualifying inaccuracies—posing a significant risk to election integrity. Modern data practices and interagency collaboration are proposed and detailed in our report. 🔄

🧵 3. Paper Ballots

Move to secure, auditable paper ballots. Why? They’re immune to hacking, provide a clear audit trail, boost public trust, and more. 📝

🧵 4. Transparent Ballot Counting

Real-time public access to tallies and reconciliation processes will enhance confidence in results. Proposed reforms include live-streaming counts and improving ballot curing. 📊

🧵 5. Eliminate Unsupervised Drop Boxes

Citing security concerns, our report advocates for supervised drop-off locations and expanded polling places to ensure safe, fair access for all voters. 🚫

🧵 6. Limit Mail Ballots

Mail-in voting restricted to exceptional cases (military, overseas voters) to minimize risks like ballot harvesting and strengthen accountability. 📬

🧵 7. National Voter Info Campaign

Educating voters on their rights & voting procedures is essential to combat misinformation and strengthen election integrity. Let’s go big with this! Every American should be fired up to vote!!  🤝

🧵 8. Equal Access to Election Data

All stakeholders, not just select groups, should have fair access to critical election data. Transparency builds trust. 🔍

🧵 9. Federal Election Standards

Update outdated laws like the NVRA & HAVA for modern security, including cybersecurity measures and a national Election Day holiday. 🛡️

🧵 10. Foster Election Innovation

We’re proposing “Right to Try” legislation for testing innovative election technologies without fear of politically motivated litigation. Innovation is key to staying ahead. 💡
