Time for a little journalism 🧐:
Marc Andreessen promises to be a libertarian visionary, championing innovation and freedom in Trump’s administration. But his actions reveal a darker plan —one rooted in control, surveillance, and elite power. Let’s unpack his real agenda. 🧵1/
2/ The story begins in 2017, when a mysterious group of Silicon Valley investors started quietly acquiring farmland in Solano County — a mostly rural area 60 miles northeast of San Francisco — spending nearly $1 billion over the course of several years to secure 55,000 acres.
3/ The shadowy group behind the land grab was Flannery Associates, backed by Silicon Valley elites like Reid Hoffman (LinkedIn), Laurene Powell Jobs (Steve Jobs’ widow), and Marc Andreessen (Andreessen Horowitz).
Their HQ: a rent-a-mailbox in a strip mall. 🤨
4/ In August 2023 Flannery Associates went public with their plan — a tech-driven utopia called "California Forever", a "clean energy" paradise that would create thousands of jobs and offer residents "reliable public transportation" and urban living.
15-minute city anyone? 🤨
5/ Recently on Rogan's podcast, Andreessen warned of "financial terrorism" via the CFPB.
Yet, for farmers resisting his tech utopia, the Flannery group engaged in lawfare — leases terminated, families pitted against each other, and costly litigation to evict and force sales.
6/ Meanwhile, Andreessen has also invested heavily in Anduril Industries, a defense startup that specializes in autonomous semi-portable surveillance systems, unmanned aerial systems, and other AI and robotics technology.
I wonder how this technology could be deployed? 🤔
7/ I'll give you one example: Anduril's Mobile Sentry towers, originally designed for military use, could be deployed in civilian contexts to survey neighborhoods and monitor public and private spaces.
8/ Earlier this year, Andreessen's VC firm also invested $40B in Saudi Arabia's AI technology fund to build "general robots" — toward the promise of deploying "generalist embodied AI agents."
Foreign spies anybody?
9/ Saudi Arabia has been reported to use such digital technologies to spy on dissidents and their families overseas, as well as trying to infiltrate Twitter/X in order to identify government opponents.
Could Andreessen and his friends use the same tech do the same to Americans?
10/ Andreessen’s libertarian vision for America sounds appealing.
But with AI and surveillance tech at its core, it raises a chilling question: Is he using the guise of liberty and freedom to push a plan for population control and surveillance by unelected globalist technocrats?
