Jungkook’s mini acapella cover of Die with a Smile is stunning. His tone suits the song incredibly well - no backing track, just excellent pitch and control.

Jungkook jumping straight into the song here with no preparation, no musical reference is incredible. Singing without instrumental/track is more difficult, since there’s no guide and/or reference for the pitch.

His pitch and precision with it is so excellent.

Aside from his excellent pitch, Jungkook’s vocal tone is perfectly suited, with him having such a full, yet non-heavy tone with that velvety sound of his. It’s the perfect combination for such a song.

Jungkook proceeds into this beautiful, resonant tone, maintains excellent pitch and even adding that gorgeous vibrato on the word ‘means’.

As Jungkook continues acapella, his technique is great. On ‘follow’, he keeps it in his chest voice, then seamlessly transitions into more of a mix on ‘tomorrow’.

Even here, Jungkook applies great technique, placing his voice in the most appropriate register, all while executing seamless transitions.

Given the laid-back setting and acapella with minimal preparation, Jungkook approaches the next section in a relaxed, way, intentionally keeping it lighter than the original.

Having said that, he is still hitting every note on point (even in a different placement).

If he happens to be in the right setting (with an instrumental too), I believe this part will truly shine. I’m hoping he’ll do a full proper cover soon, as his voice sounds absolutely incredible in these snippets.

This next part is particularly great, as even with a lighter delivery, he hits every note with precision. His tone is beautifully flute-like, showcasing incredible pitch, control and a perfect balance of lightness and accuracy.

Jungkook maintains a lighter tone, especially on the higher notes, utilising his head voice. As the melody drops, he effortlessly transitions back into chest voice, showcasing his control and seamless transitions.

Looking at the laid-back setting and the song’s demanding chest-mix balance, Jungkook intentionally keeps it lighter. A full proper cover from him would be incredible, especially with how much his chest voice has strengthened in recent years, he’d be the perfect fit.

This next part is stunning as Jungkook starts into his falsetto, which is unusually powerful. While falsetto is typically airy and delicate, his is strong and very controlled.

As he continues in his falsetto, Jungkook executes a quick-paced vocal run, hitting each note with precision, before seamlessly transitioning back into chest voice at the end.

Jungkook has got such immense control and agility to do this so seamlessly.

At last, Jungkook ends it in a laid-back, half-humming manner, hitting each note with precision once again.

To sum it up, Jungkook’s tone is perfect for Die with a Smile, and even in a laid-back delivery, his technique is great. I truly hope he does a full proper cover soon, cause this teaser proves just how well his voice fits the song.
