Jungkook’s mini acapella cover of Die with a Smile is stunning. His tone suits the song incredibly well - no backing track, just excellent pitch and control.
Jungkook jumping straight into the song here with no preparation, no musical reference is incredible. Singing without instrumental/track is more difficult, since there’s no guide and/or reference for the pitch.
His pitch and precision with it is so excellent.
Aside from his excellent pitch, Jungkook’s vocal tone is perfectly suited, with him having such a full, yet non-heavy tone with that velvety sound of his. It’s the perfect combination for such a song.
Jungkook proceeds into this beautiful, resonant tone, maintains excellent pitch and even adding that gorgeous vibrato on the word ‘means’.
As Jungkook continues acapella, his technique is great. On ‘follow’, he keeps it in his chest voice, then seamlessly transitions into more of a mix on ‘tomorrow’.
Even here, Jungkook applies great technique, placing his voice in the most appropriate register, all while executing seamless transitions.
Given the laid-back setting and acapella with minimal preparation, Jungkook approaches the next section in a relaxed, way, intentionally keeping it lighter than the original.
Having said that, he is still hitting every note on point (even in a different placement).
If he happens to be in the right setting (with an instrumental too), I believe this part will truly shine. I’m hoping he’ll do a full proper cover soon, as his voice sounds absolutely incredible in these snippets.
This next part is particularly great, as even with a lighter delivery, he hits every note with precision. His tone is beautifully flute-like, showcasing incredible pitch, control and a perfect balance of lightness and accuracy.
Jungkook maintains a lighter tone, especially on the higher notes, utilising his head voice. As the melody drops, he effortlessly transitions back into chest voice, showcasing his control and seamless transitions.
Looking at the laid-back setting and the song’s demanding chest-mix balance, Jungkook intentionally keeps it lighter. A full proper cover from him would be incredible, especially with how much his chest voice has strengthened in recent years, he’d be the perfect fit.
This next part is stunning as Jungkook starts into his falsetto, which is unusually powerful. While falsetto is typically airy and delicate, his is strong and very controlled.
As he continues in his falsetto, Jungkook executes a quick-paced vocal run, hitting each note with precision, before seamlessly transitioning back into chest voice at the end.
Jungkook has got such immense control and agility to do this so seamlessly.
At last, Jungkook ends it in a laid-back, half-humming manner, hitting each note with precision once again.
To sum it up, Jungkook’s tone is perfect for Die with a Smile, and even in a laid-back delivery, his technique is great. I truly hope he does a full proper cover soon, cause this teaser proves just how well his voice fits the song.

The vocal dynamics Jungkook uses in Dreamers are highly advanced. He uses his incredible control when it comes to playing with different volumes, vowels, pronunciations and therefore adding variety and intensity. He truly brought the song to life. It’s perfect for the World Cup!
For example, look at the switch up here. From very expressive, punch-y and loud singing, back to smooth and soft singing. The dynamics in this song are only ones highly advanced singers can do cause it requires a great amount of control. It’s a thing that sets Jungkook apart.
It’s not easy to use so many different singing styles and textures to one’s voice, controlling the volume, use of different vowels and play with the different pronunciations. But the ones, like Jungkook, who can do it, really bring out the intensity and excitement in the song.
Considering Jungkook’s voice is often all over the hidden vocals, it’s to no surprise that it’s often him that covers a member’s part (in this case Namjoon) when he was absent.
The same way when Jimin felt sick and asked Jungkook to join him with singing during Truth Untold. Jungkook already knows the lyrics and therefore is an easy option.
The above examples remind me of what Jin has once said about Jungkook. Whenever a member asks him about the lyrics Jungkook will know it all since he knows everything.
In this thread I will highlight Jungkook’s vocals from the studio, live performance and hidden vocal. Before we go any further let’s look at the credits of Telepathy. Jungkook is credited as a co-composer, but he is also credited as background vocal along with Adora.
Telepathy in general is an easy song to sing along to, it doesn’t require as much skill as many other songs with the main difficulty in this song being the high key. Having said that Jungkook’s vocals are amazing in studio, hidden and live.
Thread about the amount of hard work Jungkook puts as the main vocalist of BTS.
Jungkook has been assigned as BTS’ main vocalist ever since he was 15 years old. Back in the days Jungkook was a raw diamond. He was a born singer with a lot of potential, and in all these years he grew into the phenomenal singer he is today.
The main vocalist is often the one who gets the chorus, while also in charge of highnotes and adlibs.
But this isn’t all there is, cause behind this role there is an immense pressure. This role carries a lot of expectations requiring him to sing perfect.
A thread highlighting Jungkook’s vocals in Your Eyes Tell.
Jungkook composed this song and BTS sang it beautifully in the live performances. The song is one of my favourite Japanese songs of theirs. All the members brought something to the table which created a lovely performance to listen to.
I think Jin said that this song was very difficult/challenging to sing. It’s very understandable considering the song is in a really high key especially when it goes up in the chorus, and the singers have to switch from head voice to chest voice a few times.
A thread highlighting Jungkook’s incredible vocals in My Time.
To start it off, let’s first remember what the producer of My Time (SleepDeez) had to say about Jungkook.
To him Jungkook is one of the best singers he has ever heard. My Time was originally down one key, but got raised up one key cause his voice and range were simply amazing.
SleepDeez continued to mention that Jungkook can sing in full voice better than a lot of singers without his voice breaking and having to go into falsetto. This showed in ON, (but it also shows in Euphoria and My Time in which the songs have quite a high placement).
