Known for his flamboyant style and epic comebacks, we delved a bit deeper to find out more👇

🧵1/10 : BEGINNINGS : Madaz was earning $18ph in a standard 9-5 day job when a colleague in his department rocked into work one day in an expensive Lotus sports car. Max was intrigued as he knew the guy was earning similar to him! On enquiry he learned that his friend had made $80K that summer buying $BP after it tanked following the DeepWater Horizon oil spill. Max wanted in on this action and so opened an E-Trade account with an initial deposit of just $6K.

🧵2/10 : SCALPING PERSONALITY : Max soon realized that his work friend had got lucky and didn’t really know how to trade and he would have to form his own strategy to find success. Having initially tried options and swing trading, he found his naturally impatient personality was better suited to scalping rather than dealing with the often sleepless nights of swing trading. In his own words - “Stay in your comfort zone without trying to reinvent the wheel of your own personality.” Wise words indeed.

🧵3/10 : PLAY TYPES : Max’s own trading terminology have given birth to what he calls “The Washout Long” (WL) and the “Panic Pop Short” (PPS). The WL is a specific type of dip buy that comes after a sharp drop (usually a large red candle) to a key support area where Madaz feels comfortable buying with the expectation of an immediate short-term bounce to profit into. The PPS is the exact opposite - a sharp & sudden spike (usually a large green candle) into a clear and obvious resistance area where Max will short into the resistance for an expected quick profit on reversal. As he says himself - “There is nothing complicated in what I do. It’s about buying the dips and selling the rips and shorting the pops and covering the drops.”

🧵4/10 : TRADING PSYCHOLOGY : Max believes that trading psychology is often what separates those who make it from those who don’t - “I do a lot to strengthen my mindset. I feel anyone can memorize a chart pattern or learn how to use indicators. But it’s different when it comes to being in the hot seat and delivering results when it matters.” This is especially prevalent for Madaz as most of his trading takes place at times of high volatility and usually with many bias switches, thus magnifying the need for mental clarity. Among some of the trading psychology books recommended by Max are  - ‘Reminiscences of a Stock Operator’ by Edwin Lefevre and ‘Trading in the Zone’ by Mark Douglas.

🧵5/10 : FOREVER LEARNING : Max didn’t get to where he is by accident. His success is the result of a lifetime's work and a never ending approach to growth -  “I always believe that we never stop learning until the day we are 6 feet under.” This allows him to perennially adopt the beginners mindset and to always push his boundaries and limits towards continuous growth. This attitude especially served him well in the bull run of 2020/21 and allowed his account to soar to incredible highs.

🧵6/10 : CONVINCING FAMILY : Max is an engineering graduate and still licensed to practice in the state of California. In an ideal World his family would prefer he had stayed with that more secure and socially acceptable life path. As is often the case, those outside of the game understandably have trouble grasping the trading lifestyle of making money while at home in one's pajamas! Nonetheless, a trip to Paris paid by Max has at least helped his mother to understand that there is meaning to her sons life's work.

🧵7/10 : 8 FIGURE TRADER  : Madaz is one of those very rare traders who has gained in excess of $10M from verified trading profits. Currently standing at $9M in verified profits, he was up close to $16M at his peak in June 2021. In fact, he achieved the 8 figure milestone pretty much exactly 10 years into his trading career and amazingly was up 8 figures for the year in 2021 as early as March 11th as he capitalized big time on the stimulus driven COVID market of 2020/21.  Safe to say that Max is adept at sizing up and pushing his limits when the right opportunities present.

🧵8/10 : FLIPPING BIAS : Max is known for his legendary ability to flip bias in an instant - “I’m a big proponent of bias flipping. I don’t stay overly biased to one side. If a stock is clearly bullish I’m going to stop out of my short and go long. And vice versa.” This of course requires a lot of in the moment clarity and ability to be nimble when the pressure is on. Most traders fail miserably at this unique skill that Max excels at. There are many examples of Max flipping bias to his advantage in big money trades, none more so than some of his epic wins on meme stock $GME

🧵9/10 : $4M+ ON $GME:  Legendary meme stock $GME is the ticker Max has gained most from with an estimated $4M+ in total gains on the name. The biggest single win of his career came on March 10th 2021 with the massive $GME dump. In customary Max style, he flipped bias all day, starting with a $563K loss on short side, then flipped long to make $647k with the trend. $GME then topped around $348’s before quickly reversing. Max got stuck in halts down as he mistimed the washout long reversal to be down $1.7M realized & more unrealized. Finally he nailed the bottom and in a matter of minutes was green again, making $2.4M on that long (single biggest career win), and ending the day + $1.1M. Talk about a wild ride!
