10 days ago we rescued Chance after she was stabbed. She is still petrified.
Today some brilliant news for her that ever I didn’t see coming.
Her life just changed forever… (1/8) 🧵
Her physical wounds were awful but they are already healing.
Give it another 2 weeks and those will be healed (2/8)
What has been apparent is her mental wounds will take much longer to heal.
She’s making small steps but it will be a 3-4 month journey (3/8)
Chance is also a much older dog. You can see from her teeth being worn down.
My guess she is about 9-10.
She has lived her whole life on the streets (4/8)
As i spent time with her I started to think that she obviously can’t go back on the streets.
Unfortunately an old and traumatized dog like Chance would be nearly impossible to adopt out. (5/8)
Yesterday somebody handed me the pink bandana in this photo to give to Chance when she got better.
It was only a simple bit of cloth but later that night holding it, that’s when it hit me.
I would adopt Chance myself. (6/8)
I don’t adopt dogs as I am so busy and feel I can help more by not having too many of my own dogs. It’s my rule.
But Hank loves looking after sick female dogs. He could do with some company.
Chance will have her first home. She will live with me and Hank (7/8)
Chance needs support, time, love and security.
I didn’t see it coming but it all just made sense to me in the moment with the pink bandana.
One day soon Chance will be wearing it walking alongside me and Hank with her tail wagging again 🥰🙏 (8/8)
